Comments: man, thought I could swim faster but am pleased with ranking.... What would you do differently?: bring cheap flip flops to wear down to the water. the boat ramp was some strange torture....  Transition 1
Comments: goo shot What would you do differently?: have seat adjusted right the first time.....  Bike
What would you do differently?: buy a better bike, PRACTICE ON HILLS! Transition 2
Comments: goo shot before and after. thought I would do better on ride, but then, my bike is very very heavy....  Run
Comments: really surprised I ran the run, but that was my mantra. run the run, run the run..... What would you do differently?: nothing - surprised I did as well as I did!!! Post race
Warm down: walked back to car. put on cooler dry shirt and bra. What limited your ability to perform faster: used a 12 yEAR old mountain bike - very slow. I did not train much on hills. I am pretty happy, and see it as a start point - all others will be faster and faster. Next year I will be at the bottom of my age group ages wise - watch out!!! Event comments: as it was my first - I have nothing to compare it to!!! They need to do better for parking. Last updated: 2004-07-18 12:00 AM

Maybe it would have helped with the pre-race jitters. I thought I was having a heart attack shen I saw how far the swim was. I about drowned on the way to the first blue bouy and almost quit. Luckily, I figured out how to turn on my side to breathe so I wouldn't gulp water instead of air. Your swim went fabulous. way to go... |

Ate pasta and rissoto the night before. work up and had an egg sandwich and peach with coffee and gatorade. Drove to site - had a luna bar.
bike ride from parking - about 2 miles. swam about 200 meters.
