Do you have any foods that you absolutely will not eat for health reasons (not because you don't like it).  What are they and Why are they off limits to you?

Nothing taboo, but some are severely limited. Usual reasons, high fat (ice cream), cholesterol (cracklins, yum!), fried foods.

McDONALDS! [or any fast food for that matter] Awful awful awful for you.

MEAT. I don't mind the way it tastes; I just cannot bring myself to gnaw rotting, burning flesh off of a bone.

Other 'health reasons' for me include that I'm allergic to stuff so obviously I don't eat those things.

While I wouldn't exactly call it "taboo," I don't eat fried foods.  Originally, I stopped just for health reasons, but now they don't appeal to me anyway.

The exception is that I will occasionally eat the fries at one particular local restaurant (they are hand cut and sliced like chips....mmmm).

Anything with HFCS, not even Gatorade.

No.  Of course there are things I only eat maybe 2-3 times a year (fast food burger/fries comes to mind), but nothing is taboo.

A big serving of Cold Stone Creamery..."Cookie doughn't you want some"...with light ice cream!

maybe not taboo, but definatly an oxy moron!

I don't eat hamburgers or fries at resturants because all the grease always makes me sick. I make my own home made version--maybe not quite as tasty, but much better for you.

I'm another one in the no fried foods category.  I was a former french fry addict, but now it seems I can't tolerate very much fried food at all.  However, I wouldn't turn down a jalapeno popper if it came my way.

STARBUCKS!!!!!!!!!  My stomach can't handle it, it's to strong for my stomach, if I have to drink coffee it has to be instant.

I once saw an interview with Arnold Swartzennegar and he was asked what to eat to stay healthy.  His answer was very simple:

"If it tastes good...stay away from it.  If it tastes bad...eat lots of it!"

1. Fried foods. Easy to stay away from since I've never eaten much fast food in the first place.

2. Anything that can have trans fats in it, especially commercially baked muffins and cookies, crackers etc. That's been the hardest to cut out for me.

3. Red meat but since I haven't eaten any for 20+ years it really doesn't require any effort anymore to stay away from it... It would just make me sick.

4. Coffee. I had one cup when I was 15, my whole body shook violently, and I've stayed away from it since. Not hard since I never developed a liking for it.

5. Soft drinks, candy, stuff with HFCS,... I rather get my simple-sugar-fix in the form of a glass of wine, burb.

6. Saturated fats, especially butter. Major yuck! I use good oils for cooking. But I like to eat tasty, stinky, raw-milk cheese when I go home to Europe.

I try to stay away from HFCS (unfortunately most grocery foods contain it, even most breads), and choose items without any. I also try to stay away from red meat, and fried foods.

I LOVE taco bell, and really a Grilled Stuffed Chicken Burrito is not that if you eat 1 as a meal.

Well, being diabetic, most candy is a "no-no" for me. There's some random stuff too, like cough syrup and anything that will make you drowsy, that's on the avoid list. I don't drink alcohol for other reasons, but diabetic reasons as well. The 'betes makes tris difficult because EVERYTHING is loaded w/ sugar and carbs. I have to really watch during races that I don't overcompensate for the work I'm doing.

Due to celiac's I stay away from bread, pasta, most grains.

No red meat or dairy (though I do give in to raw milk cheese on occasion).

Most foods I eat raw, including fish.

Absolutely no pre-packaged, processed foods!

I totally believe you get out what you put in. So if you eat poorly, your body will perform poorly.

There isn't anything I 'can't' eat, but I don't like red meat, shellfish or seafood - except some fish.

It is extremely rare for me to eat anything like Mcdondalds, burger kings, takeaways, etc. Perhaps once a year if that, just because its not in my diet and so I don't want it. I have pizza very occasionally but I try to choose a healthier variety if buying from the supermarket, or I have a small piece to limit the damage. if eating out I'll choose a salad or pasta rather than a pizza.

Also I don't have coffee, sodas, potato chips, sweets - No reason other than I don't particularly want it.

However I find anything with sugar is hard to resist, I looooove chocolate, ice cream, desserts etc!!

My list of taboo foods is a bit smaller that it was a few yeas ago...there was food I would never even think of going near, but now I have learned that I can eat them without freaking out

Avocado was a major onr, but i eat it now

things I will never eat:

Pizza, Chinese food, fast food of any kind..no subway, taco bell etc...I might eat ice cream 1 time a year, but I do like desserts..mostly cookies and cake, but rarley eat it.

No fried foods at all...and bottled salad dressing -yuk!!!

It helps that I cook for a living so I have everything at my fingertips to make a heathy meal when I need to.  I eat mostly a vegetarian meal, but will add some meat/seafood if i ened the protien.

You wouldn't even eat a delicious home-made pizza? Pizza doesn't have to be "bad" for you at all - if you do it at home, you control the ingredients. With whole wheat dough (thin crust), a lot of fresh veggies, a light brushing of olive oil, freshed crushed tomatoes instead of tomato sauce and any kind of non-fat, and/or soy-derived cheese you want (if dairy is bad), it wouldn't be bad at all. In fact, it's quite well balanced, esp. if you added some beans for protein. Pizza here in the US is NOT how pizza is in real Italian cooking. American pizza IS crap - albeit delicious crap

Thanks for the advice....I try really hard not to label foods as "bad"or "good" and I totally get how to make a pizza healthy (I'm a chef).... but it has nothing to do with that... It is too much dough no matter what.  I barely eat sandwiches even on whole grain bread...and it's not like I eat a low-card  diet...I just don't/can't stand the feeling of the dough sitting in my stomach...

It goes way beyond just that, but not something I am willing to post and talk about.
