Subject: RE: IMFL watching threadCongrats to everyone! And thank you all so much for the support and good vibes. The marathon was a nice long (fast) walk for me as I couldn't breath when I ran and my quads were shot. So I made the best of what the day gave me. And it DID get pretty brutally windy from around 70 - 105 miles on the bike, and the return leg of the run was windy as hell. I really felt sorry for those that were still on the bike when I finished the bike leg as they were in for a realllllyyy rough ride back into town. Times were fast because the water was basically Lake Placid flat, temps were perfect and the wind early wasn't bad. So if you were fast out of the water and on the bike you could really cruise. I did see two really large peletons on the out and back portion of the course, one with about 30 people that was ahead of me, and one with around 25 that was behind. I fully expected them to catch and pass me en masse, but they never did surprisingly. The officials were not at all shy about handing out drafting penalties, which was good to see! My wife did get to see me cross the line on the live feed, and she told me about it later as she followed me all day knowing that the run was not going that great for me. They weren't there phtsically, and I was really alone through the whole process, but the love was there and the vibes were coming from all over BT and home to keep me positive. I really have no bad feelings at all from my marathon leg as I went as fast as I could physically walk and still maintained just over a 13 pace. Congrats all the new and returning Ironman!! You've earned it!! Edited by Daremo 2007-11-04 12:07 PM
