Would you consider a laptop or a Palm-type device and use WiFi to supply us your thoughts along the way instead of totally vaporizing for a year?

Frank, as always you are a class act. Thank you for allowing us to share in your journey up to this point. I hope you find what you are looking for, and if nothing else have a blast getting there. Let us know if you are extending your pilgramage up into the New England area. We are pretty good at putting togther small gatherings for traveling BTers. Look forward to the occasional update if you are so inclined, and will keep an eye opened for you in 2009

If you get the chance to occasionally check in Frank, let us know how things are going.  You're more than just a BT-er, you're still family and we want to know how you're getting along.  Thanks for being part of the fun and motivation around here, and best wishes and god speed down whatever road you take.

Frank,

We haven't met, but Denver now has a tradition of crazy evenings on the town "BT style". Regimom, Dick Dime and I are the social chairs. There is a "BT hostel" that's temporarily taken up by the larger than life TRIXIE this weekend. Come and visit if you get the chance.

{sigh}  I hope you find what you are looking for.  I know you will.  You are too good a person not to have all the best things.  You know Steve and I think about you often and will continue to do so.  Hugs to Milo and Otis from Dodger and Hoover.

Frank,

I was so honoured to meet you in Brockville.  You inspire all of us and we'll miss you a TON.  I wish you well in your adventures.  I'll look for you diving underneath us at the 1000 Islands Tri next year (if you're not doing it, that is )

Good Luck Frank! I hope you find what you are looking for. Can I suggest reading the "The Alchemist"? - it was a great book for me when I was where you are.

Bye Frank! I only found this thread because I went searching for you to tell you there's a Harrisburg Newbie in the "Introduce Yourself" thread -- and now I find that you're going away?!?!?!?

Perhaps you've read "Blue Highways" one too many times . . . .

Thanks for all of your nice words everyone. I'm back, sort of. 2008 was an amazing year for me. I learned a lot about myself and worked through a pile of my issues that had been stacking up for a couple of years (I'm still working on the ones that have been stacking up my whole life). I did travel quite a bit as I had planned and it did me a world of good. I think that sometimes, for me anyway, a change in one's perspective within can come from changing one's perspective on the outside. It was an experiment and a gamble, but for me it worked.

So what happens now? I'll keep lurking on here from time to time. I've got a different user name that I'm playing close to my chest for the time being. So for now, I'll put scuba-punk to rest and check in on you guys from time to time as my alter ego.

So in the immortal words of ABBA (yeah, I gotta' keep you guys guessing):

Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

-Frank

SOOOOOO glad to hear from you Frank.  I've still got your avatar in my friends list, and I check it on occasion just to see if you've popped up.  Good to hear that you are doing well and that your "years in the desert" were good for you.  You deserve it.

You are, after all, the reason I am here and doing this crazy sh*t
