  • Comments: duh, totally forgot to fill this out. I don't wear headphones when I run so it's always in silence but this time was different. I didn't know Christine/Lucy but I thought about her, her family, how tough it must be for them to lose a wife and mother. So many here had an incredible amount of wonderful things to say that I know she inspired so many to good health and great laughs. And on top of it all she was an organ donor so that even in death, she gave life. Amazing woman for sure ~

  • Comments: I ran this virtual Race in Denver. But it is not about me, it is about the memory of someone who impacted the lives she touched. A triathlete's way of showing love to a family who lost someone dear to them. May she be in the presence of God, and may her family be comforted, uplifted and strengthened every step of the way.

  • Comments: Ran 5k for Lucy after work. Waited for Whizzzzz to get home from work, so we could start/finish together. Printed out own 'bibs' based on the t-shirt designs that Q posted. We didn't start right at 7 EST, but I don't think Christine would have minded. Just ran easy, pacing Christine through a sub-30 5k. I pulled up at the end, to let her cross the line first. :) Weather was warm, humid, definitely Florida weather visiting us today. Fist time running today too, that I had several cars honk and people shout "Woohoo!" and similar encouragement out the window at me. Definitely felt a loving, caring presence throughout the race. A calm settled over me during the race, my HR gradually declined throughout the run as I got settled and found the peace within myself. May you find peace in the next life Christine, tonight's run was for you.

  • Comments: Run for Christine tonight. Reflected how someone I never met, never spoke to, never knew at all until her death could have such a profound impact on me. It seems she touched and inspired many people in her life. Not surprising that she still continues to touch and inspire in her spirit. A true “pocket full of sunshine.” God bless.

  • Comments: I never met Christine, but after reading her log and reading all the comments from her friends, I wish I had. She sounds like she was an amazing person. Rest in peace Christine. Maybe one day we can meet at the finish line when we both break 30 min for a 5k. The photo below is a few km upstream from Niagara Falls taken right after i finished my run. You can actually see the mist of the Falls (ok, so you have to look really hard, but trust me it's there).

  • Comments: This race was run for Christine (lucy). i didn't know her but was so saddened and upset about her story and for her family. I have a husband a nd teenage daughter and like her loved triathlons. I can't even imagine what her family must be going through and felt I just had to do something in her honor even if it was far away. The sun was setting as I ran to the waterfalls that are only up for the summer here in NY. it was the perfect place to reflect say a prayer and support her and her family in spirit. I am greatful to be a part of this BT family whose compassiona and support and love continue to amaze me everyday. Thank you BTers and Lucy rest in peace.

  • Comments: There is no way to express what I am feeling. Most people know that I am not a christian. I believe that when we die, the persons being / soul / essence / energy becomes part of the world around it...becomes part of all of us. So in my heart I know Christine is with me, part of her will guide me, forever. But I am sad, I think I am sad because I want to be in Tampa with my friends. I want to be there to support them and help them, and across the country I feel useless and frustrated. I know that they really don't need me there...but in purpose we often find our path. Ok...I am babbling again. This run was exactly what I needed right now...It felt great and let me release a lot of built up sadness and negativity! Christine was always possitive in her inspires to me...so I guess that is the part of her I am feeling right now.

  • Comments: Virtual 5k in memory of "Lucy" fellow BT friend. Had a memorable run pushing my son in the jogger, realizing what we do to get the training in and to tri and live a healthy productive life. Looks like Christine lived her life to the fullest, by reading her blog up until the day she went into the hospital she was making light of her illness and typing away with all the mistakes and just being! I found that remarkable. God bless her and her husband and her boys.

  • Comments: My goal was to accomplish Christine's goal of breaking 30:00. This has been my goal for awhile too. So, when I finished, I was overwhelmed to see that I made it. I really wish I could have met Christine but even though I didn't know her, she still has made a difference in my life. May God bless her family and comfort them during this difficult time.
