  • Comments: We love this race. White lake is just a good location and the family can bathe in the lake while you race. Third year in a row and will prob continue to race here.

  • Comments: The teenage volunteers aren't that good. Glad they were there. Also I heard a lot of negativity from some of the faster racers about the way others swam and biked about how slow they are. Not typical tri crowd. They seemed real stuck up.

  • Comments: Pretty good race overall. White Lake has THE NICEST swim courrse I've raced at yet. If you're trying to pick out your first open water race I highly reccomend White Lake. Overall the race was a pretty good measuring stick for where I am in my preperation for the Beach to Battleship Half in October.

  • Comments: There was plenty of water, sodas, and pizza. I only saw one small tray of orange rinds, and no bananas. I was really looking forward to the bananas... Overall, it was a very well organized event and I look forward to doing it again next year! I set an International PR by beating my previous time by nearly 30min!

  • Comments: Good race. White Lake events seem to always be well organized and run pretty smooth. Would be nice to get finisher medals...not sure why Setup Events doesnt do medals at the finish line?

  • Comments: This was a very good race with a very festive post race environment. The heat was a big factor, but something not controllable. I was hoping for this race to be swimsuit legal. The bike course is awesome...If you can hammer away, you're going to pick of ppl left and right. The run sucks. It's an out and back on the highway and there's NO shade. A lot of souls perished on that route today.

  • Comments: Pretty decent event, actually like it much better than the half as I think this is a good area for the race but unless something different could be done with the half run course I would never go back for that event.

  • Comments: Good race, the Lake is the best part of it. The bike is not pleasant due to all the road seams every 10yds!.. and the run is rather plain and nowhere to hide from the sun.

  • Comments: Enjoyed this race except for a few things, most of which are out of setup events control: Smell of pig $hit everywhere and again, hot run course. Wish they moved the run to go the other way around the lake to avoid running on 701. This seems like a simple change which would give us more room to run and less traffic. Everything was well organised, on time and as advertised. Good post race food and drink as usual.

The lead-up was nice too, staying 2 blocks away on Azalea, dining in E-town Friday night (awesome spaghetti), chilling on the porch with Paul downing a brew or two Friday night (discussing his plans for Bridge to Bridge next weekend, and IMWI next year!!) Awesome to see Mark Swan down there volunteering (way to go Mark!) at chip pickup, then to see him at run out/in and chat afterwards.

  • Comments: The race was great. The worst thing was that the route is used by a lot of trucks carrying livestock which smells like decomposing carrion! God it was awful! Despite all the minor issues and not coming close to breaking 3 hours, I still beat my time from last year by 12:17! Very happy with that. Oh yeah, I had lots or irratation under my arms from my wetsuit. Not enough body glide. The water after the race stung like a ^%@$@*!

  • Comments: I was so excited to do this race with all the good things I have heard about White Lake. I must say it did not disappoint. I love this distance and venue. This race is on my "to do" list for every year out. I am going to work on getting faster on the bike and run over the winter and cant wait til next year. Check this out, about 1 oclock we took my daughter to the lake so she could play in the water, and it was "smooth as glass". Poor timing on the racers part. Note to self: Next year, stay at "Nathans Townhomes" VRBO.

  • Comments: I'm very happy with my time considering this is my first Olympic. Its the first time I've gotten this long of a race in and I'm hapy with the performance. Things could have been beeter but i finished and it didn't kill me. I'm happy.
