  • Comments: Disappointed that I was 3 minutes slower than last year and didn't break1:30, but it was a windy day. Water was choppy on the first leg and the bike had some windy segments too. Probably didn't train as much as I did last spring when the weather was better, either. Great race and will definitely come back and do it again!

  • Comments: Crazy fast field this year compared to last. Overall rank is women only. I was faster by 5' and dropped 1 placing, was 3rd last year and 4th today. I beat last yr's winner, who also won the yr before, and she only came in 5th this yr. Tough field, really fast people came out to qualify for 2013 London Worlds. My good friend, Susan came first in my AG, and qualify for the 2013 Worlds. This is a good prep race for my qualifier in 2 wks in Edmonton.

  • Comments: The volunteers and organizers were great. They ran with military precision. From a spectators perspective the race is fantastic. There are lots of opportunities to see the racers and cheer them on. It's the only swim where the spectators can walk along the pier and cheer the swimmers on.

  • Comments: Had a good race and shaved 2.5 minutes off last year's time but I'm still having issues trying to beat 1:20:00 for a sprint. After reviewing the results, there is a trend showing that my bike leg is the leg that needs the most work.

  • Comments: They do a great job of putting this event on. It all started in my wife's Boss's back yard years ago and grew into an event that became a qualifier for the world Sprint distance this year. And to be on this course and get a High Five from Richard who ran it himself and put on an impressive performace for a 62 year old man. The rest of his family did a great job in the race as well taking tops spots in age groups and overall female. It is impressive to see how it is such a family event for them and where it has grown. His Encouragement to others is amazing. Overall I had a great time and I am going to do another sprint. I put a lot of hard work into loosing 60+ lbs in a year and getting here. Many hours away from family and hours training. I owe a lot to Tina for putting up with me through it. My good friend and training partner Stef for helping me along the way, encouraging me all the time and for setting great examples in the sport. She is always cheering everyone on even during

  • Comments: My first DNF. :) Very glad I showed up and did the legs I did though. It's a great venue and a great course and I will definitely come back next year. Mostly I'm glad to have had the opportunity for a lifeguarded OWS - those don't come around too often for me outside of races.

  • Comments: Overall rank includes men. 3rd AG, but not a good race overall. Horrific swim, went off course on bike, run was ok. First place is 2' faster, clearly I lost it all on the swim! Got to meet BT'er Stef Wood and Helen Robertson for the first time. PS - after a night's sleep, felt a lot better about the race. Sure I lost it on the swim, and didn't have a gd bike. But it looks like on small races, I CAN contend in my AG, and that at this age, I am still S/B/R'ing, that's not a bad lifestyle. Life is Good.

  • Comments: Great First race. Well orginized. Fun event. Would do it again. With the heat today the one drink station on the run was not enough in my mind. But I struggled really bad with this... so maybe it was just me. My wife's Boss was the originator of this event when it started like 12 years ago in his back yard. It was very cool to have this as my first event. I owe a lot to a friend and somewhat mentor I have been riding and swimming with... Thanks Stef....

  • Comments: This is the third time I've done this event. I used to to it when it was on the August long weekend - and was never ready early enough to do it in June. It's a well-organized, well-run event with happy friendly people and lots of positives.
