  • Comments: I wasn't terribly jazzed to do this to begin with and I am really not into multisport races anymore. Too much trouble ;) I am glad I got to chat with several friends, that was the highlight of the morning.

  • Comments: Having Kevin and Gear west serving Dogs made a big difference this year - really good on a cold windy day. The volunteers were friendly, the music was good and the course is as good as it gets for a Du. Can't say enough to encourage people to attend. If all 350 had shown up Randy might have needed more port-a-potties however.

  • Comments: We didn't realize we had first place until our team was called. Another team beat us who we thought was female (based on name) but must have been co-ed. We were thrilled!!! Ran out of water at the finish. The Minnefota Moments guy left before the awards! So no medal pic. Typical V.S. crap. What makes this race appealing is the 1/2 price signup in December and the nice park situation. Gear west supplied hot dogs which I enjoyed, and the trail mix is actually a nice treat.

  • Comments: I won't comment on Vacation Sports again, because they were up to their usual foolishness. OK - one comment: I was the person who submitted the registration, yet only Carrie and Kristi's names were on the timing information. Kristi was listed first so when Carrie finished, they called Kristi's name. Really dumb. We had a team name... But OF COURSE I am thrilled to have a medal that I really feel we earned. We could not have caught the first place team, but the other teams were all very close behind us. A little faltering and we wouldn't have managed 2nd, so I am really proud. I will cherish the medal since I can't imagine earning another one until I'm 70 and 1 of 3 in my AG at an event. We all had a superb race, which is always great in the early season.

  • Comments: I liked the course, but the organization was bit casual. Definitely didn't start on time, although they kept on schedule once they did start. My one wish is they had done a better job of signage through the preserve about the race. Others drove through with boats, etc, and didn't even know they would run across about 400 people trying to run and bike their way through quickly on the narrow roads.

  • Comments: First Race Of 2007 In The Books! Finally met the world-famous autumn. I knew she was around somewhere, and I recognized her tattoo in the food area afterwards. Bikergrrrl was there, too. Heard her name as she crossed the finish, but didn't want to interrupt family time afterwards. RD did a decent job dealing with a race that was over twice as big as this event has ever been.

  • Comments: this is a fun, low-key race held in a very pretty location (same park as the great pumpkin chase). its fun being able to watch other racers (i need to volunteer at a race!). seeing the fast elite racers come in was great...but i was really REALLY inspired by the guy who came in in 2:26. he was the last in on both runs and rode a recumbent. bill overheard him say 'i do walk, bike, DONE.' hee hee. anyway, he was still out there in the rain and wind for over two hours and stuck with it. he rules.
