Precipitation
Total Time = 1h 45m 15s
Overall Rank = 213/1740
Age Group = M30-34
Age Group Rank = 26/111
Pre-race routine:

Woke up to raging thunderstorms. Great.

Had bowl of oatmeal and a cup of coffee.

Drove with Jess and Liz over to the race start. Made our own parking space, as we were stuck in traffic with 10 minutes before the scheduled start. Hoofed it over to the starting pen and weasled up towards the front.

Shot a gel about then.
Event warmup:

Walk over to the start. Stretch. Not really much else to be done.

Turned out the start was delayed 30 minutes, but they didn't tell us until 10-15 min after the scheduled start, so there wasn't time to do much except sit in the holding pen and try to stay loose.
Run
  • 1h 45m 15s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 02s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run. A bit wet due to the rain. Windy in a few sections too, especially near the end.

Felt good throughout. I ran even splits, and kept my HR basically at my last measured LT for the whole race.
What would you do differently?:

Change the weather? Overcast was nice, but I could done without the rain and wind. :)
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, found Haley and Aaron. Stretched. Got sticked by Haley.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not much apart from the weather.

Event comments:

Great race, and great fun with all the BTers who were there!

Glad to finally meet you Chris.  And nice race too.  Haley seemed to be having way too much fun with that massage stick...I think it's habit forming!

I think I need to sanitize my stick - how many sweaty bodies did it glide over this weekend?!?!

Hey, congrats again on a great race and stay warm!

Great run Chris!  It was good to finally meet you.  I look forward to St. A's.   Yeah, yeha...I know what I said, but I decided today on the trip back that I needed to find a way to make that race and I am going to do so!

But with that said, you will have to wait on me at the finish, just save a Guinness for me!  You are one fast mutha!
