Enjoy your half days and rest days. Why aren't rest days really "restful"? It seems like they end up being rest days because we're really just too busy doing everything else to train.

I will run later this afternoon -- a very short (2-3 miles) run. I may also take my bike out for a little. The ride yesterday went much better than the first ride with it. I maintained the aero position for three miles. I was going fast enough that I actually thought maybe I should slow down. I kept imagining what would happen if I hit a sharp rock or a bad bump that I wasn't expecting. Does it get easier to control the bike in that position with practice? I'm hoping so.

I'm taking a swimming break today. My shoulders are a little achy. I suppose that means I'm doing something wrong. Frown

Happy Fall!!

Didn't get in my trainer ride yesterday, decided the legs needed a rest.  1 hour trainer ride w/ 3X10 minutes at LTHR followed by a 2 mile run @ race pace on the treadmill.

16.5 mile run at medium effort. Out the door at 6am, showered at work and now having some salmon, rice, peas, & corn. You know... it's Friday... slow day.

8:00 - 27.5 miles on the bike, testing out the new shoes. Clipping in is a whole new word, but it went pretty well. No falling, which made me happy. Now out to mow the lawn, trim some trees, and clean the bike. Is this what they call a day off???

Enjoy the weekend, good luck to anyone having a late season race.

frustrated with the rain... been pouring for 2 days and the extended forecast shows no signs of relief. don't have a bike trainer yet (it's on the christmas list) so i've been doing the spin class thing. 2200yd swim this morning. going to fight the old ladies at the y for a chance at some intervals on the treadmill tonight. i have an olympic distance in 2 weeks and the lack of biking makes me nervous Frown

1750 swim @ Echo Park Aquatics Center after work!  Going to go pretty easy to save myself for tomorrow morning's grueling ~26 mile test ride up the bike segment of the upcoming Magic Mountain Man (Olympic distance) Triathlon.  ~3000ft @ 5% on a roadie with no triple woooot!!! Gonna feel the burn!!! ^_^

Brick workout.  56 mile ride at race effort followed by a 3 mile run.  This was my first attempt at a run after a ride that long and I really just wanted to test my legs.  I ended up really pleased and my pace was very fast without really feeling like I was pushing at all.  This is giving me a lot of confidence going into my HIM next month.  Next, I am going to do the same thing but with a longer run.

A short bike commute each way today, and an easy run at noon with a couple of quicker 2 min. pickups at the end.

It is a beautiful sunny, warm day and I can't wait to get out of my office and go for a nice long run. Just not sure how long.

easy 2 mile run.  came to the realization last weekend I'm not going to be able to make it to my last scheduled tri this season (work crap.  Transitioning to more running to try and gear up for a 10 K in November, then back to the winter regimen in the gym to see if I can drop another 25 lbs before next season.
