Is this your 1st? as noted above....pictures, pictures, pictures.

what is the origen of the name Mika? .... is it pronounced Meeka ( as in the meek shall inheret) or Mikea ( as in mike with an A on the end) ?


One bit of advice ...... be prepared for a drop in your traing schedule as your wife will need support AND dont forget you also need support. You may feel left out a bit because the focus is on the mum and bub but just remember you are special too!


ALSO get a photo every month on the "birthday" date for 12 months in the same space or with the same teddy bear / blanket/ triathlon bike / whatever to show the growth of Mika in context. We did this from 6 months of age and wish dearly that we did it from birth. The change is awsome and as a tough bloke I dont usually get emotional but when I look back on those photos I get a bit emotional.....and I am proud of the fact that i get teary because of my girl (Tully - now 12 months old).


tell your wife you love her even when you dont feel that way and remember it is only "bad for 12 months" if you have that attitude towards it. No matter how bad it does get it is only a reletivly short time....they do sleep through the night eventally.

CONGRATS!!! There is nothing more exciting than a new baby! And I am going to have to disagree with Spanner on one little note. I think it was only really bad for the first two or three weeks when all the hormones are flying (be patient with your wife during this time random crying will happen) I was nursing so my hubby rarely had to get up with our little one in the middle of the night. It is just so awesome that no amount of sleep deprivation makes it bad...it is just different and your body adjusts REALLY fast. It is amazing how resiliant we are. And on the plus side...you forget all the bad stuff really quick...cause here we are 11 months later talking about number two already!

ENJOY!!!!!! It goes by TOOOO fast!

Congratulations.  Baby girls are great!  This is bound to fit in perfectly with your training.  Your new baby girl will be sure that you are up in plenty of time for a changing that will allow you an early a.m. workout with enough time to still be back for her subsequent 6 a.m. changing and feeding .
