PLAY HOOKY!!!!

I've been waiting for a snowstorm forever to play hooky.  And I live in Minnesota! Take it when you can get it.

Go to work.  Have some respect for yourself and your employer like I have apart from the 7.5 hours of my 8 hour day that I spend surfing on BT

Having a guilt trip put upon me, I took the dog out again and was ACTUALLY going to try to get to work.  Thankfully, I came to my senses when some neighbors were trying to get back up their driveways as they were unsuccessful in making any further than the bottom of their driveway.

I guess I can learn from others mistakes. 

80% of my customers either didn't make it in or are shutting down and going home.  I'll have to sit here in case the other 20% call. 

HOLY CRUD BATMAN!!!   How early did you have to leave to make to the office???   AND, how long did it take?

Did you just sleep there last night?

I alerted all of my team not to come in after spending 30 minutes fighting traffic before turning around and heading home.

Shortly after I did that the President of my division called to let me know he was declaring a snow day and shutting the office down. 

I have to work, but I can do that on my laptop while sitting on the couch and watching TV.

Only bad thing is I just got a new cell phone, and my single charger is on my desk at work.  I guess I'll be buying a new one today, 'cause I'm not driving 2+ hours for that.  Heh. 

I'm in London.  It's overcast with slight drizzle.

My call to the office went something like:

Me:  If I make it in, it will be much later.

Coworker:  If?  Are you coming in or not?

Me:  Dude, there's a couple hundred yards of unplowed subdivision just to get out.  So, tell the boss I'll do what I can.

Right now I'm looking out the back window and even the 4WD and AWD vehicles are just crawling along.  And few people have even attempted to get out of their garages.

Good day to get stuff done around the house....Hmmmmmmm

I'm in Milwaukee, the problem is that healthcare is 24X7.

The coolest thing was the 70 year old lady I see running everyday on the way to work was running in the blizzard!  There goes my excuse.

In addition to smog, traffic, girls in bikinis in November (how'd that sneak in there?) and urban sprawl, yet another drawback to living in Southern California.  Not many snow days (at least the cold kind)

Course, we will be riding outside tomorrow up the coast to Malibu   That is, if we can stand the 55 degree weather.   Brrrrrrrrr

You STILL haven't sent me another of those bikini pictures from when you ride the boardwalk.   Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr'ing at you.

Snoeshowing at Morton Arboretum is a blast.   

A little further south, I have an ice day. My office is closed and our special event was canceled so it's cleaning and tree decorating for me!

I still can't get out of my driveway. I'm stuck. Playing hooky unintentionally. I want to go to work because there's alot of stuff I need to get accomplished! But here I am, a prisoner in my townhouse. I don't own a shovel and the Association has not plowed me out yet.

Where's possum when I need her? She's got her own plow, doesn't she?
