Subject: 10.3.11 Aaaah, Monday!

Goooood morning!  Nothing better than cool October mornings!

4:15am:  35 minute run

5:00am:  Insanity Max Plyo.  Getting a little burned out on Insanity. This should be my last week of the 60 day program, but I need to make up the ones I missed due to being sick, etc. so I'll finish up next week.  Then it's all about running and cycling!

Today is a rest day. Somehow I have been signed up to play guitar and sing in a scholarship fundraiser this evening. I'm not sure how my DW gets me into these things...

I definitely could not do insanity and train so I commend you. Today is hopefully gonna be 750m in the pool and an easy 20 min run. First day of my gym membership

2500 meter swim. 1500 kind of wind-up fashion (finished hard, not sure why; just let my body decide), and some 100 IM's. Went to gym to lift weights. Good day for indoor sports--endless monsoon rains. Giant mushrooms and swimming pools erupting on the school soccer fields!

No training at all this weekend, spent all of my "free" time building a loft with my son.  So I'll be trying to get in a decent run tonight before going to a Boy Scout meeting.  Those kids really wreak havoc with your life don't they?  Smile  But it's the off season isn't it?

Yanti -- I hope you begin feeling better soon.

Kim -- You are amazing for sticking with Insanity -- a couple of my students are doing it (started about two weeks ago) and they never stop complaining about it. lol

I have my first PT appointment for my hip at 12:30 today. I'm hoping to sneak out of work at about 3:00 and ride for 45 minutes and then run 3 miles. I have to be back here at 4:30 for a newspaper meeting and then from 5-8 I have a Strategic Planning Task Force Meeting -- it's where we sit around and complain about all of the things our institution doesn't have. I usually complain about how much I hate K State and KU. lol (Really, just jealous.)

For those of us in this hemisphere, enjoy the fall weather.

Slept in until 6am. Drank coffee. No training today. I might go sit in the steam room or sauna at the gym or the people who work there will worry something has happened to me :P

Hope your Mondays were great!


My Monday I practiced my swim skills for an hour while the kids had their swim lessons. I was supposed to get a run in too, but a little Kindergarten aged girl got on the run bus at school and ended up at our house. Helping her find her way home ate up my run time. Worth it though to see the little girl safely home. I kept thinking about my own little girl lost like that! The girl didn't even know her full name! Cry

8 mile run. Legs took a couple miles to lose that leaden feeling after a fast 20 miler on Saturday.

Great 2.5hr trail ride up to the Ridge Road in the Boise mountains. Up one side of the mountain...down the other...beautiful Oct morning in the 60's.

1 mile run warmup, 20 X 200 hills, 1 mile run cool down.  30 minutes on the trainer getting used to aero position on new bike.  3000 interval swim. Strip steak, baked potato, salad, and 4 Sierra Nevada Pale Ales while I watch the football game. I love "off-season".....just training for fun and loving every minute of it!!

My first recovery week in the OLY plan from this sight.  Felt good only swimming 17 min and riding 35 min.  Looking forward to the shortened times to increase time and distance next week.  Winter OLY training is fun.
