The kind that goes something like "Get your *ss in the pool! You haven't been swimming in 2 months! How are you going to do the tri in 4 3 weeks if you haven't been swimming?!?!?!"

Thank you in advance.

C'mon Renee. Everybody else is swimming. Don't you want to go swimming??? Swimming is cool. You're not cool unless you swim.

OK, I'll bite:

You know, Renee, if you swam as often as you post here on BT, you'd probably be swimming 100s in :55 by now...

Why would I want to stick a carrot in my speedos?

If you don't want to practice swimming its ok, someone needs to be last.

There is something conspicuously absent from both your September and October totals...SWIMMING!!!  How can you call yourself a triathlete, when you only train in two events?

Not to worry though, I'm sure the safety boaters will appreciate you giving them something to at the race when they are dragging your butt out of the water!

OK, that's all I got!

OK...from the other thread.

olddskool - 2005-10-05 3:41 PM I'm in base training mode. During this time, I'm currently focusing on technique. With regards to swimming, I understand that maintaining high elbows through the catch and pull (underwater phase of the stroke) is highly desirous. However, when I drop my arm, while maintaining high elbows, I sink. What's the deal? How do I learn to keep high elbows during the catch and pull? Thanks fellow Triathletes.

Renee:

When are you dropping your arm?

What part of you sinks?

I keep my elbows up by using my elbows to create the stroke above water, rather than using my hands to pull the stroke. It's a simple pivot at the elbow. It's kind of like pulling up with your knees on your cycling instead of using the ankles. Make sense?

Maybe "I keep my elbows up by using the desk."

C'mon, get in the water will ya!

Thank you Boca Ocean Rescue! The sand on the bottom of the ocean looks sooooo cool, all ripply, so peas-ful, when you're hanging with your butt up nose dragging in the waves, over the nose of a board. I really should have gotten his name ... .

Holy crap - Your last logged swim was AUGUST 1!!!!?!?!?!?!??!!??!!?!?!?

Better make sure they have the water wings and lifeguard ready.

Don't worry, you can make up all that time you lose in the water on the bike and run... what's that?  no biking either???  Oh, well then, just run fast.  No worries, it'll be easy      :^

Renee, get your sweet little butt in your cute swimsuit, your color coordinated cap and goggles on, and jump in the pool.  Just remember, the hottie lifeguard is watching you so you need to swim fast.  Plus there's a great looking guy in a hot pair of jammers that you just have to keep up with just to get away with looking at his awesome bod.

don't forget to do flip turns.

We have to keep our swimming up, it's the only thing we are better at than Jess

.... but probably not for long... girl's getting fast.
