They should bring all the obese kids from schools to watch this.  Besides diet,  exercise,  be active.

Hope he gets the record and what a great cause.

Today website has a link of his interview and his start.  Listen to the gals giggle when he took off his shirt.

Okay, I just ran the numbers. That's 3 pull-ups a minute, for 22 hours and 20 minutes, with one hour and 40 minutes left over for sleep.

Try it. Do a pull-up. Wait 20 seconds, then do one more. Repeat for 22 hours.

Holy. Cr@p.

Is this the guy that was featured on one of the Kona Ironman shows a few years ago? His name seems familiar.

Yep, he's the one. He's an incredible athlete. He was actually drafted into the NFL and weighed around 300lbs before jioning the Navy Seals. He is a beast.

Is that his strategy?  Or bust out a big set of 100, rest for 10 min, then do it again - or some other variation?

Damn, and damn again. Hope he sets this new record for such a good cause.

His initial strategy was to go 6 reps, then rest until the next minute mark, then another 6.

A little over 3 hours ago he was closing in on 1300.

He looks like a big dude.

You figure the pull up record would be held by someone much smaller.

BAMF for sure.

I saw The Today Show this morning when they were talking about him and had the camera on him, and my wife said "He's built".  No sh1t!  His quads reminded me of Frank Zane's (my best friend in H.S. was a body-builder, so it's a blast from the past reference).

David Goggins.  The dude is incredible.  Read up on his history.  He ran 100 miles in 19 hours in his first race.  Before than he has never even run a marathon.

He does it all to raise money for the families of special operations soldiers.

He is an absolute great man! I urge you to read the book "Lone Survivor". Some of his teammates were featured in that book and it's quite amazing.

He's been doing roughly 8/min and enjoying his 45-50 seconds of rest, which is incredible.

His early numbers have him crushing the 4020 record with a number closer to 11,520! BOOM!

Go get 'em Mr. Goggins!

looked at the Today Show web site and said he was over 2500.  No idea what time it was or anything..

Typical NBC not taking advantage and running with this story.  Keeping a better update record of this event.

Yes, a worthy read....but I'm not sure his teammates were the same from the Seal Team 10 mission that is the subject of the book.  No matter.....Goggins is the real deal for sure!
