Subject: RE: On Sunday, Jan 28th - 24 Years Cancer FreeCongrats Spokes! My dad had non-hodgkins lymphoma when he was in his 30's. Was in remission after radiation and chemo for 18 years, and it returned when he was 54. He lost the battle after three years, but I am so thankful that I got to grow up with him. The science of treating cancer has come so far. You are right, we all need to be aware of our bodies and take notice of changes. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in November. Stage one, grade two. She had a successful lumpectomy and is two weeks into radiation now. Now that both of my parents have had it, I'm a bit scared that I will battle it at some point in my life.
I check myself regularly, and my doc does it once a year too. Thanks for sharing your experience, and congrats on your continued good health!
