Subject: SOR - the race within a race.

Sunday is the HIM at Racine, WI.  A bunch of us are doing it, but as the race approaches the gauntlet has finally been thrown down.

The race within a race is if the boys, Schmize/jowisc/hangloose (you can include coredump too but he will catch her way before any of us can) can catch Whizzzzz before the run leg.

Gentlemen, we have our work cut out for us.  She swims like a fish and bikes like a demon.  She will have a 15 minute start on us.  May the Testosterone Lords smile upon us this Sunday.

There ain't a chance in he!! that I'm catching her, but it's fun to talk a little trash.

Theme for the day - CATCH THE WHIZZZZZ!

CATCH RUNNING2FAR just isn't as catchy as CATCH THE WHIZZZZZ.  Sorry.  Not that I won't be trying to catch you.  Heck, with my swim (compared to most of y'all) I'll be spending the whole race trying to catch anyone who starts with or ahead of me and most of the people in the wave behind me too!  You could do the leg butterfly and still beat my split time.

No offense HangLoose but I'm putting my moolah on the Whizz. Not against Coredump because he's an athletic freak of nature. I mean that in a good way, of course.

Don't let me down, Whizz!

In any case good luck to all you SOR racers. It's going to be a big BT contingent! I have no doubt we'll see hardware.

OMG the pressure is on!

I intend to swim like my wetsuit is on fire and hammer the bike like there's no tomorrow.  I want to hang on for the run... I have the endurance to stick it out for 13.1 miles at a sorta decent pace. My goal will be not get caught til my feet touch the ground.

GAME ON, boys!

Of course, Dumpster will get to me first. Wink As it should be.

How much is it worth catching her?  You'd have to make up 15 +/- ? minutes during the approximately 3-hour bike.  (Roughly 21 vs. 19 mph on the bike would do it, but the run may last f-o-r-e-v-e-r ).

Is Whizz racing Athena? If so she get 24 minutes on me. what is up with that. Athenas go 5th and the big guys go 13th.

That is it. I swim like a beached whale. I bike slower than elite marathoners run but ok I will try to catch whizz. By catch I mean see her before she leaves for park for the day.

Atleast they say they will not close the water stops until I am basicly through. (water stop close 9 minutes before the course does).

actually, she only gets 12 minutes on us.  Kind of a neat little challenge.  My money is on Whizzzz, too.  She can swim and bike and 12 minutes is a ton.

However, and I already told her this.....she better be hauling 'cause the trio is coming.

I do not understand SOR.

they send the men 55+ then women 45+ and the athenas. I am assuming because they are slower. then the regular a/gers and then the cylesdale men and then fire/police. I can understand the police being last but why are the cylesdale if the other "slow" people are 30 minutes before them?

It's a clydesdale conspiracy!  At Florida 70.3, they sent the Athenas and then, 3 minutes later the men 20-24.  Talk about full contact swimming.

My money's on the Whizzzzz

Have fun guys!

Please allow me to sum, for those first time HIM’ers, that an actual attempt to make up 15 minutes on the bike = CRAZY!!!!

Save it for the run and out run that bum wheel of hers.

Dumpster did 2:33 on the bike at rockman. if he was chasing me down he would had me about mile 5. I was 4:10 for the bike. I know though whizz rocks so if I knew how good her bike split should be I would get a better idea.

That would be why I stated, FIRST time HIM’ers.  But if they want to blow their wad on the bike to catch her and crash on the run, I look forward to that race report.  Besides, there will be plenty of other pace booty out there, so no need to single out Whizzzzz.  Don’t think Chris would appreciate others scoping HIS booty.

Aiming for a 2:48-2:54 ish bike split. Hoping I can hammer out something even faster. With all you whackos chasing me, I'm liable to be in Zone 4 the entire time!

Did a 2:54 last year with a bum knee. Am thinking I should *should* be faster with both lower limbs operational. Wink

And Dumpster knows I've only got eyes for him. The rest of them can chase all they want! I'm going home to Chez Dumpster. That is, if he waits for me at the finish line. Surprised

Sheesh Whizzzzz, and I thought threatening to try to catch you on the run was enough. Who knew you'd have so many chasing you on the bike. And with a 2:45 bike, no way I'll catch you on the run anyway. Instead I'll just root for you to smoke the boys!! I've seen you ride. I know what you're capable of.

I asked them to start us farther back so I could pass more people on the bike.  They are so good to me.

Hey, it's all fun.  I'm going to have to bend the laws of physics to start behind her, swim slower, bike slower, and then still catch her before the run.  But you gotta have goals, right?

And if you want to talk about pace booty, you ever seen jowisc in tri shorts?  Just sayin'.

No, but by your tone of type, I’m guessing I should.  Now Whizzzzz can tell all three Jen’s.

Ty - have you been able to,  uh, survey the landscape and make a decision on this weekend yet?  Clearance from the tower?  I know how these things depend on timing and can go down to the last minute.  If you don't know by tomorrow call me on Sat if its a go!

Maybe she'll bonk in T2 and you can catch her there.

Whiz that is, not jowisc, who is neither a jo nor from wisc, if I recall.

You could do the leg butterfly and still beat my split time.

Sorry, but there is no way anyone is going to beat me for the claim of SLOWEST swim split this Sunday.  I will be absolutely pathetic out there.
