A curse upon you Superbowl, and a curse upon you Four Roses Single Barrell whiskey.  The combination of you two have put me firmly behind the 8 ball this week already.

Needless to say smart eating wasn't high priority last night and a pounding head made me opt out of my morning run.

Focus "Daniel San"

Sorry I also caught bits and pieces of a Karate Kid Marathon on G4 this weekend.

Back to the grind.

Yes that damn superbowl. But my strategy of veggies/fruit first followed by whatever and a few beers paid off well. still sluggish today. But i'm with you, did a pm workout, no way i was doing an AM workout.

dsand97 - 2013-02-04 2:53 PM Before pick of my self imposed 4 week Burpee Challenge.  The most impressive part of this picture is the fact that I wrote Day 1 backwards so it would look correct in the mirror.
Well, just add this to Guys of BT 2013!!

So what's the Burpee Challenge? Shall we all join you?

x2 is it a set number you must suffer through, timed, or some combo? it is interesting that they more you do those types of activities, eventually you get much better. I've seen this with lunges and pushing a towel back and forth a basketball court myself.

1 day of 10 1-minute max burpees with 30 second rests.  Count reps and work to beat reps each night.  unfortunately challenge derailed tonight.  While whipping up a badass reduction sauce for my pomegranate thyme marinated flank steak I dropped a jar of pomegranate juice.  As it fell I tried to catch it before it hit the tile and instead caught a shard of glass in my finger.  It laid the tip of my finger wide open.  Got it stopped, but don't want it to start again.

:-(

Gotta find a new challenge.  Maybe a  plank challenge or something to hold me over until it heals up.

you know, I was looking forward to seeing progress on the scale this morning cause I can tell things are looking better......however, I slept straight through my alarm clock and now my weigh in will wait until Thursday when I go to Boot Camp.

I skipped last week's weigh-in (maybe the last two weeks?) because I had some not-so-good nutrition days. Luckily, I was able to pull things back together, and not let it turn into a spiral. I've weighed in at 127 the last two mornings, which puts me down about four pounds since Jan 1. I'm happy with that. I finally wore a pair of my "normal" jeans again the other day. Haven't weighed this little since August.

I weighed in today instead of Friday because its my birthday.... 139 lbs, up 2 from my last weighin 10 days ago but the first time in probably 30 years that I've been under 140 lbs on my birthday.  Goal for next year is to be under 130.

That's great!

Don, You're looking good there. Is your goal to get ripped and/or build endurance?

Linda - congrats on the skinny jeans.

Struggled with the diet yesterday, future wifey and I had an appointment with Signes bakery to sample different wedding cakes for the wedding. Sampling free awesome cake all day is highly recommended

I did run 3 miles after though....day #37 in a row!

I certainly would mind some added definition, maybe a hint of a six pack and some defined obliques (my wife loves the oblique lines)  I'm actually pretty good on endurance, but again I am always looking to improve that.  I've still got a few stubborn spots that I'm hoping to finish off, and in finishing them off find my way under 200 lbs. for the first time in 10 years.  I need to tighten up the cage so I look really good in a trisuit (if its possible to look good in a spandex short legged sleeveless romper lol).

Sampling cake = happy wifey-to-be = way better than no cake + crabby wifey-to-be.

Besides, you don't want to end up with icky cake for the big day!

Icky cake is a no no, the flavor we chose is called "Jessica pink Lemonade". Homemade old fashioned butter cake with layers of lemon curd and raspberry jam, iced with French butter cream! This thing is rediculous good.

Oh sorry...shouldn't be posting this kind of stuff in a weightloss thread. It was AWESOME though! Do you plan on having a cheat day anytime soon? 37 days is a long time without sugary goodness!

No more cake talk!Just finished swimming and grabbed lunch at the fancy market across the street. Why does every pre-made salad have to have cheese in it!? I don't eat cheese and always have to pick it off. I mean if cheese were not in every salad would people really miss it? Maybe it's the only way to semi-trick people into eating veggies.

Yes it's a little cruel to vividly describe cake in a weight loss thread!

Is anyone else eating paleo? I'm on Day 2, not bad so far. I'd been vegetarian for the better part of the last ~10 years so eating meat is strange to me. Slowly getting there. Been enjoying hard boiled eggs, dates, new veggies, old favorite fruits and made herb spinach chicken burgers last night. So far so good.

There's a reason they sell all those frozen veggies pre-cheesed...like broccoli & cauliflower. Because noone would eat them if they didn't have nummy cheese sauce on them.

I do modified paleo - I still eat dairy & drink wine/beer on occasion (and of course cheat once in a while). I come at it from the other direction, as a meat&potatoes midwestern girl...for me, the meat's the easy part, the veggies have been the adventure for me.

all pre-made salads are required to have an ingredient label in most states and whatever is on the ingredient label is whatcha got. Most people love cheese on a salad, myself included...so they make what will sell and make them some $$! I manage a food retail business

Big switch from veggie to paleo. Where did you used to get your protein from? Why the big switch?

Me, I think I'm getting food phobic - got really hungry today and have so far eaten 1700 cals. which is way over what I've been eating. Drastic calorie reduction hasn't done much the last few weeks, but neither did weeks at a more moderate 400-500 daily deficit (measured with bodybugg and recording food).
Now afraid I'll eat normally again and gain weight. Oh well, the joys of being a menopausal old broad!

I am pretty much paleo except I will eat oatmeal before a long run and indulge in peanut butter now and then. Those chicken burgers sound yummy!
