YAY!! GO TEAM!!

and the DL list is much smaller than recent history!

Woke up today with a migraine - thanks cruel world. Trying to avoid the aleve because it's rough on the stomach and I've got some other issues going on. So it was a rough morning. Finally starting to feel human again. But all this NAP talk may send me back to bed. Have a great weekend all!!

Monica/Ann Marie: feel free to nap.  Ann Marie, did that guy really fall out a window?

He really did.

You are not alone in the manatee no-nickname club, Kirsten.  I am also absent from the list.

I figured there were some I missed: either some nicknames, or some no-nicknames.  I'm thinking about changing my username...

Umm, I had no plans to race tomorrow.  I'm thinking about it, though.  There a pink ribbon 5K run in the morning that is fairly local.   Anyway, the only training plan workout for tomorrow is a 44 mile loop on my bicycle.      Might do both.

What she said

With that I felt slightly guilty, though--what if I weren't spelling it correctly--thankfully we have online dictionaries/translators for that sort of thing.

So without further ado, here's the correct Gaelic spelling. I feel terribly for not having figured this out before.

LOVIN THE NEW AVI JANYNE - you look MEGA speedy.

I am not racing tomorrow. My friend K who has lost over 70# in the last 12 months really badly wants to walk a 5k fun run. Triathlon Pink also do a 5k on the same day so we are going to walk that together instead. K is really excited about it she doesn't even seem to mind that she will have to get up a 5am in order to get to the race on time. She just really really wants a finishers medal, hopefully they do them for the fun run, I know they do for the tris but finishers medals are a very rare thing here.

When are you next in town? Would the keepers of the bike helmets let you do a sprint on December 15th if you have a chaperone? You would have to slow waaaaay down so I could keep up though.

It's 57 F degrees outside with abundant sunshine and no humidity to speak of.   Dry air at its best and it's a rarity around these parts.     Headed out to ride and I'm doing the 44 mile loop around the back roads of the wee town I inhabit.   That's to start with.   I have two other routes of 24 miles and 11 miles.     We will play it by how I feel after the first loop.       We are in the midst of maximum fall color and these conditions are ever so intoxicating.     Will  see everyone around sundown.    I''ll be grilling  kabobs and such, then relax around the fire pit.     Will sky watch afterward   Might set up the telescope, might not.   I"m sure there will be a bit of sipping whiskey for after dark.     The night sky is lovely this time of the year.

BIG MANATEE CONFESSION TIME

I'm sure you guys will be just shocked.

I'm checking in with our family doc (whom I've exasperated with my whackadoodle shenanigans for over 30 years now!) as well as my shrink in Bali (who is also a neuro, conveniently enough) monthly. Yes, I was cleared to do lots of low-intensity working out. Yes, I was cleared to start adding in high-intensity on Oct 21 (but still no high-risk-of-head-injury activities, which technically should rule out being in a motor vehicle in Bali at all, but I digress).

This month I'll be getting an MRI, which we'll also run by a second neurologist. To be clear, the MRI can't really CLEAR me to be cycling on the road again--but it might reveal some kind of gross morphology which would definitely NIX being in risk-of-head-injury situations.

I'm still hoping to do IMWA on Dec. 8th. It's a huge maybe and probably not, but on the off chance that all three docs are at least neutral on the issue and there's no glaring contraindication, I want to be prepared.

Regardless, I will definitely do the swim.

So, Stace Face, if I'm somewhatvaguelyalmostOK'd to do Busso, then for sure I'd love to do happy fun participatory sprint the weekend after as well.

Ummm because you already knew? And YES YOU WILL BE GOING TO YOUR GRADUATION WOOOOHOOOO

I also have to, even if things turn out kinda OK to do Busso, the possibility that it might give Kingsley a heart attack. I've already broken the poor boy once (and he's still recovering! turned out to be a nasty flu--any other kind?--so he's finally just now gotten over the lingering fatigue).

Near the end of one of my long runs, I noticed my left hip aching. There was a slight pop with each step. The hip was sore for 2 days after the run.
