Stace Face -- I had a homesick Aussie offer me $10 for the (half-eaten) box of Nutri Grain I brought to the swim today. I said NO, but I did let him lick the inside of my goggles for me.

Wondermoose -- I love you all. Such a beautiful family!

Watermelon, hmmm. We get so much of it here all the time--I do like it very much, but it's just not that interesting to me. Now, ice cream, to be exact, frozen (probably never seen a cow) soft-serve dessert ... that's my ticket!

Any other year I would DO EEETTTTT because this race has been on my bucket list forever......

Ocean City Beach Patrol tri is August 4 while I am on vacation.  It's a sprint.  I have an 11 mile run on the plan the same day....would need to rewrite that weeks plan.  Suggestions?

Where is your vacation?  If you can make it logistically, DOOO EEETTT!  I don't think that moving the long run will be a problem in the end.

There is a wonderful British shop in Lancaster that sells all sorts of yummy British goodies, like Curly Wurly's (my FAV), Aero bars, crisps, toffees, and have an excellent tea selection, go figure.  And the shop keeper is just the cutest 74 year old still active cyclist.  Love him!

July 25 to August 4.  The race is August 3 on the far end of Ocean City. Rain date is August 4 (the day we leave)  The link on the OCBP page isn't working so I asked them to email me a link to sign up.  Few years ago I did a 1 mile ocean swim race with them and the sign up was very low key day of event for about $20 so I am not anticipating a high cost tri. 

The other races I want to do there are either late June (Assault on Assateague sprint tri  right at the campground I stay at when we're there) and the Seagull Century in October which I always wind up signing up for a half marathon in November and can't do.....

Good news!

I was thinking about your bike situation on Friday when I took out my cross bike and I do think that a touring bike might not be a bad idea at all.  It's not bad to have a different bike for a different purpose if you can afford it.  It's also super handy if one bike is in the shop ;-)

So you're vacationing in Ocean City?  Sweet!  Can't get much better logistically!

Oh!  I want to do the Seagull Century!  I don't think that it works with B2B this year though.  Maybe next year.  

I've been in limbo. It's the middle of summer and NOTHING is going on. We thought about doing a tri this last weekend, but entry plus sitter $ was going to be almost $300...for a 500/9/2 race an hour away. No thanks. Now, without traveling with kids and one of us solo racing, there are no races for about 6 weeks. So I've just been going through the motions of "training".

This morning I finally set my next race! Wheeee

I must admit that it is not that bad or difficult giving oneself injections twice a day.

Just sayin'.

So I was just reading through the logs of one of our podmates and came across this ^^.  I laughed my head off, because many of you will remember Jen saying something quite similar (in fact, it is still quoted in Genie Chris' log).  It seems us Manatees are all cut from the same cloth....
