I totally hear ya on this one. I have a friend that is caught up in the "It Works" weight loss wrap fad. I want to scream every time she posts on FB about it.

Speaking of FB (rant on) I've pretty much given up on it. It's all recipes and memes now. I try to use it to keep up with my family and friends, not watch them repeat whatever witty sayings they read on someone elses FB?! /rant

TJ, I find the topic very interesting. I think that as a society, we share more stuff, yet know less about one another than ever before. I firmly believe that the beauty of my life is enhanced by the relationships I have with others. Relationships take time, they grow with every discussion, interaction, etc. The nameless, faceless quality of many FB posts does little to grow those relationships. If you read my FB, you know I ride my bike, but not much else. But in here, you know more, because I am more willing to share with ya'll. I think FB is becoming somewhat more like Twitter, in that it is used for marketing, contests, games, but not really for relationships. I think we as a society will soon be yearning for more. That is my 2 cents, probably worth half that after inflation.

I completely agree. I rarely post there anymore but I love pix of my family and friends and even enjoy seeing where they go to eat or play. However, my sister's contstant stream of right-wing meme's I could do without...

I continue to check FB because if I didn't I might miss pictures like the following of  a great-nephew I've never seen in person...

If only there were a "hide posts with meme" button

Check often, post little. I think that is true for many of us. Although it is nice to see some folks posts and pics, but if I get notified one more time that my niece has "Changed her Profile Picture" I may defriend her. Ohhh, that'll teach her.

Life is funny.

Ah yes, and it's always a duck-lip selfie...

Have you been stalking Chris's neice???? :P

No duck face, she is trying to become a car model (sort of trying, really). Evidently her marketing technique is to rotate through all her pics, Whoopie. DN2 on a car hood. DN2 squatting by a tire. Etc, etc, etc. Oh yeah, accompany that with the immature whining about getting stopped by the cops. Waaaaa, maybe tinting the windows pitch black was really a bad idea.

OK, I've convinced myself to go fix this garbage tonight.

Let us know how it goes.  I changed mine to mostly Friends can see and I do try to stay on of it.

Oh, I get it. No doubt in my mind. Unfortunately, there's so much more, but we'll leave it at this and not get my blood pressure up any more.

What is the countdown, 3 days?????

What are you trying to do?  Get Hands' blood pressure up?!

Boys are off on their father/son night movie date. Dora is on here (instead of football????)...and I'm zoning out while I plug in daily miles on my phone calendar. Knocked out week 4 and the schedule fits just right. I need to look around the area for a HM in the next month-ish to try to get that piece of training in...especially since I haven't done an HM since the beginning of the year.

Michael Fatali...incredible photographer. His work gives me goose bumps.

Went through his gallery in Springdale, UT with my MIL. She had some serious discussions with the gallery manager about several of his pieces. The manager was sensing "blood in the water", so she pointed out this piece. Said that each photograph captures a moment in time that may never be caught again, as the rock formation on the far left here is no longer standing. I opened my mouth, looked at her, and closed my mouth. Don't think she would have appreciated my "Well, good thing he took it before the boy scout leaders got up there" joke. Sometimes I can use my better judgment...just sometimes.

And if you're unsure of my scouts reference: http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/21/21065930-boy-scouts-toss-two-utah-leaders-who-tipped-over-ancient-rock

FEELING the strength stuff from yesterday! And I only did a little! (5 30-sec. planks, 10 pushups, 15 burpees, 20 squats, 25 lunges, and 30 crunches)--all body weight....you'd think I went all crazy with it! Between muscle soreness and dealing with the lazy-rude coworker today (I have mentioned him before--he just got back from his month long vacation, and couldn't spend a day without some criticism of my efforts in reptile exhibitry; all while ignoring the basic care the animals require--I am so DONE with his crap!), I ma pretty much exhausted--mentally and physically. Though I did get to help catch a Crested Screamer this morning (scary, but fun), and I got to take around a group of keepers from Miami on a tour--that was fun(I got to hang out with lemurs )

Artemis--you asked about my arm warmers? They were on major clearance from the --I got 'em for about $5--SWEEEEEET! Here's a pic:

Also a Crested Screamer:

The thing with the Screamer is that they have wicked little spurs on the "elbow" of their wings--and they USE them....luckily, they don't use those big ol' feet to fight us off!

Sorry about DB co-worker and sore muscles. At least sore muscles mean something good is happening

Super cool warmers and scary cool Screamer!

Am I the only one who pictured the warmers on those crazy Screamer legs/feet??? Such a pretty bird, really...and then I got down to those legs that turned it into Jurassic Park creature. Wow! Now I have to look it up.

Beautiful picture. My family and I love Goblin Valley. I haven't been so outraged about something as I was about that incident in a long time. I know there are more important issues in the world, but seriously?

We will be in Utah in a little over two weeks. We may have to try to get down to Goblin Valley. My little guy hasn't seen it yet, even if he does wear the t-shirt to school all of the time.(Gotta love hand-me-downs)

I can tell you it is an internet dealer, where if someone sends you an invite, they get a credit to use--It is the climb---only spelled with a  'Y' instead of an 'i'...that is still so weird. They have some amazing deals on tri gear as well as shoes, regular clothes, etc....

If a company/site has spammed repeatedly in the past, their name/site goes into the BT filter.
