We dodged these Cholla (aka "jumping cactus") on our ride on Saturday. The "mamas" drop the "babies", and they get blown willy-nilly. They were EVERYWHERE! And DH tells me after we start that he didn't bring an extra tube. Geez, like riding the side of a mountain with a nosedive into rocks and cacti just inches away isn't nerve wracking enough???

 'Ello, my pricklies.

Anyway, the condition is that I have to check in with him again (the Bali neuro/psych) as soon as I get back and a repeat MRI. Apparently weird shyte can happen to your brain if it's been knocked about a lot and you undergo a lot of physical stress (like, say, an Ironman).

Good job on the follow ups.  Sending good vibes for a (legit - no paying of the MDs!) clean bill of health.

I say pics or it didn't happen

Take care of yourself, Ms. Yantilicious.

Erin,

Those jumping cactus babies look like they can do some serious harm to a bike tube or foot!  YIKES!

Thank you all for your kind words….I am putting the training plan and the misery of race day behind me.  It was not a good plan for me…..it was not meant to be but  I was stubborn and kept training.

My goal right now is a week of yoga & body flow to get all the tightness out of the body parts.  I do have a massage on tap this week with my Amazing Grace too.

Next week I might add in swimming, then the following week some bike trainer time and strength training.  I have no intention of running until my mind and body both *want* to.  I want to be able to love running again and am afraid if I force it back too soon I will end up hating it more.

I hope at some point you are able to look back and see the good from this. And I hope you take a bit of time to let your body come to terms with it all as well. You are an inspiration.

Thank you for letting me watch your journey.

They are no joke. Two inch spines on some of them! They stick to things even by barely brushing against them.

Great! Now what about you?

hehehehe...you mean I'm supposed to make other plans?

I'm looking at my first Oly in May, if Athleta adds it like I've seen hints of happening.

I think that I may "need" holiday themed swim caps.  I've seen them on swimoutlet before but I'm not seeing anything now.  Any ideas of where else to look?

ETA -- Swimmer's Choice seems to have a selection.   They are pretty expensive though.  Any other ideas?

Thanks. Sadly all of the swim caps say "This item has been discontinued and is no longer available."  FALSE ADVERTISING!  Boo!
