Car started ok at work, was the biggest worry. Gave it a long time to warm-up, just so things like the transmission could do so too. Heard quite a few had dead batteries. I parked in a different area that was a bit more shielded and picked a spot that was oriented away from the wind and would be sure to have a number of other cards around it. Don't know if it helped a lot, but figured it wouldn't hurt.

That is crazy cold!!  Stay warm and I hope your car continues to work fine.  Mine was making some weird noises on the way to work today and didn't want to accelerate to get on the highway despite having warmed up about 5 minutes before I left my house, then driving about 5 more minutes.  I don't think cars/engines like this sort of weather.  The windshield came making these little crackling sounds and I was convinced it was going to shatter in a million pieces when I would hit a bump.  Thankfully it was OK!

Your temps make my -1* at 9:15 am look toasty!

Must be someone who saw the list of manatees and thought we looked like the cool kids, so he joined us!

Hi Manatees!  I will be popping in periodically.  I joined up with the Grey group this time around but am not feeling the love too much so I will probably pop here a fair amount

Ok.. so apparently I am recovering from the flu. We were checking out symptoms and all pointed to that. This would only be the second time I have ever had it. On a nifty note....Clint gained a super-smell-power, and I have gained super-hearing-power....odd since my ears feel cloggy; I swear I am hearing things super sharply though. Weird. According to doctors, I should stay home from work (again) so I don't spread my disease anymore. Rough to take. Yeah, definitely starting to feel like my normal self.

Yeah, I've got some weird shyte going on too. Woke up yesterday feeling dizzy and queasy. Got kinda better through the day, enough that I did a slow easy run. Then icky again this morn. No, it's not morning sickness, oh heck no! Maybe an equilibrium issue. Took off work yesterday and today, just in case.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING ... please read the first posts in this thread, and if you like, JUMP RIGHT IN--the water's warm here* as manatees like it!

* Unlike most of the Northern hemisphere currently.

Hmm, you feel badly in the morning and then get better as the day progresses. Sounds like morning sickness to me!

So... your YANTINESS... I know you're not a fan of hypoxic training but the swim coach I've been working with for the last few weeks had us try to go as long as we could without a breath. I made it across the pool (25y) with only one breath in the middle!!!!!!!! The coach said he's not a fan of hypoxic training either but was talking about breathing patterns and wanted us to try it. He's a good coach and has done a LOT to help my technique.

Judi, I hope things work out in whatever group you are in, but you'll always be one of us! And really, there is no group quite like this one although I think that can be said of all of the mentor groups.

I love how we just have little tastes of cold and then we go back to normal!  I do feel sorry for all the people running Disney this weekend- not the best weather for long runs!
