Subject: RE: SBR "U"Got a power meter question for you guys: I was doing a brutal climb yesterday at the end of my ride -- average cadence was 39 and speed was 4.2 mph....quads were ready to burst the seams on my shorts as they were working so hard, so feeling like I must be putting down some pretty good power....PM says I did 112W. WTF? That's like a warm-up / recovery....this does NOT feel like warm-up or recovery. So what's the deal? PM reading wrong? Calculation get jacked up with such low cadence? I had back pedaled shortly before the climb and the numbers had been making sense throughout the day for the most part (though, for the life of me, I feel like it's reading 10-15W lower than it used to, but that may just be that my fitness still sucks despite good training since mid-January). With the way my legs were feeling, I just can't believe I was only doing 112W. Thoughts? Had a fun weekend of riding -- 448 TSS points over 120 miles (80 miles and 5165' of climbing on Saturday alone). Low volume run week, but I'm pretty okay with that. Now to recover....and consider power testing in another week or so. |
