Got to drop my bike off for Tri-Bike Transport ... question: for those that opted to ship a bag, what did you put in it other than CO2 cartridges?

spathrw - 2010-06-16 8:30 AM looking through list of names and these popped out so far: Andy Potts - #3 Bree Wee - #51 Bryan Rhodes - #4 And get this - MARK ALLEN - #88. could this be THE Mark Allen - aren't low numbers given out to Pro's? wow. this is going to be fun.

They go from pro men to pro women for lowest numbers, then after pros the Janus fund athletes are normally in the 80-1?? range.

Excited everyone?

It's so fun to have numbers posted as it makes it all the more real.

Okay, reading the above had me worried as to what the bib number 1254 might bring ... until I saw that it was the year that Marco Pole was born.

Brian ... bib # 1254

Marco Pole?? - is that your porn name?

Yes, the mind finally has time to wander in Taper time.

How is everyone feeling during taper?  I'm pretty tired and my legs are heavy- but they seem to loosen up once I get into my workouts.  I'm hoping all this passes and I feel better next week.

I have to admit that I feel great.  Granted my training logs reveal that I had a few light weeks in my recent past, but my body feels tired, but ready.  It is a general feeling of wanting to not do a single thing, but then once I get going, not wanting to stop.  For instance, last night was an easy 30 minute swim to practice form.  After 30 minutes, I started to do another set and after a lap, forced myself to get out of the pool.

I'm trusting my taper to get me to the starting line with fresh legs / arms / mind ...

Kyla Carlson: 2514

Will need to do some numerology research, unless someone has some time on their hands and wants to do it for me.

I exchanged an email with Bree Wee about the race -- I've followed her for a few years and adore her. She sent me the nicest reply. I totally hope I can meet her and get a picture with her.

Am not feeling any taper craziness or free time. I'm more frazzled than ever, what with the end of the school year and 60,000 kid/family things going on and husband on the go and yada yada yada. I'm realizing IM training has kept me very sane and focused this year and right now I'm spinning in too many different directions!!!

Right now in CDA it is 48 degrees and raining. Looks like things start improving again on Fri. Looks like mid seventies through next Fri. Super heat and standing water on the roads are the two things I would hate. The rest I can live with. It'll be interesting to see what happens on race day with this yo-yo weather....

Almost got smacked by a truck on the ride home today.  He pulled right up past me and then made a sudden hard braking turn right turn into a parking spot.   I skidded out and stopped within inches of hitting him.

I think I'll lock myself in room for the next 10 days.

triseattle - I probably won't get to swim on Thursday afternoon.  Not sure how long it will take us to get all settled in CDA after we fly into Spokane.  Still planning on Friday though.

Regarding taper progress thus far,  I guess the fatigue is starting to lift.  Still not to the point where I feel like I'm jumping out of my skin, but every once in a while, I convince myself that it is starting to work.

Mentally, have been having occasional thoughts about being ready to race.    I'm pretty sure with another week and a half, I'll be itchin to go.

Oh yeah, bib # is 849 - Jon Davis

Good luck everyone with final race prep details.
