For a site with "beginner" in the name, there are sure a lot of fancier bikes represented around here. Beginner obviously doesn't have to mean limited funds, but I would think that there would be more basic bikes being used by other people getting started. ![](http://memoriesgames.com/gallery/d/928-2/DSC02985.JPG) If you pass listed bikes in a race on an older, heavier ride, permission to smirk ![](https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/smile.gif) It happens often. I am all for going all out for equipment if you can, but until you see results, dont assume bike times match the steeds they ride in on... I was just given this fine piece of machinery from a friend. Complete with stem shifters, 27" tires, kick-stand, license plate from 1981, and clamps holding the bottle cage on. I just have to find some running shoes that look like they are from the late 70s or early 80s, put on a speedo, take off my shirt, and I'm going to go do a sprint tri with it. [no, I'm not joking] I'll be sure to post pictures of the race when I do it, but first I have to give it a tune up and get myself fitted on it. ![](http://psychocookie.com/public/images/DSC00528.JPG) ETA: oh yeah, and it's a 10 speed Edited by zionvier 2010-05-04 12:24 AM
