Omigod, that is awful My thoughts are with him. That was the worst bike crash I've seen. Best of luck on a full recovery.

I passed someone down at the bridge while coming back from the turnaround, it looked bad and where it was on the course, at the bottom of the big hill, I couldn't imagine a worse place.

It puts the finish in perspective for me.

To both, well wishes and fast healing.

Bripod - 2008-06-16 10:53 PM Any update from those close to him on Veganman?

See LindaKC's blog, he was still at KU Medical Center yesterday, I will try to call him today and leave an update, if some one else doesn't.

Veganman update:

Talked to Ryan this morning, seems to be in good spirits and hopes to leave KU Med this afternoon. The RR just called his wife saying they figured out what they did with his bike (the weather thing probably messed that up). He say's he really isn't that sore and did some walking around this morning. He also said that a doctor doing IMKS stopped riding to start a tournequet (spelling ?) and made sure the bleeding had stopped before he started racing again. Ryan was happy his Garmin 305 survived the crash, his top speed was 40 something!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I have plenty of time on my hands and I'm updating my logs starting back on Sunday to give a kind of daily diary.

Glad you're back online, VeganMan!! We've all been hoping for a speedy recovery for you. As you can imagine, we've all been worried and wondering just what happened.

Big hugs to you though!

See my edited post for details - each person got a personalized email with their own pics. I'll forward you the email but I make no guarantees that it will get there - have been receiving all day but haven't been able to send since 11:30! D'oh!

www.asiorders.com is the URL for the photos

Any idea whose camera was used to take the BT group pic on Saturday at the beach? I'd like a copy.

We also got a really good one. The only problem is Tori doesn't seem to want to share it with everybody quite yet. When she decides it's OK I'll let everybody know!

2googs I can tell you exactly what he was saying! The only audible sounds that wern't muffled under cries of pain were "MY DARN CALF IS CRAMPING. I CAN'T GO ON."

I had to beat him back with that 3 foot log I found in the lake to keep him from trying to massage me. It was really creepy
