No. I just complained about it loudly to coworkers. Maybe it's a good weekend to wash gear, regroup...etc. I dunno...

There's an inside joke/story behind this.  Really. Ya gotta believe me guys.

Sure, sure...

Actually I dragged DS2 in to a Lululemon recently and was surprised that they have a decent men's section.

OK, if the truth be known.  I signed up for a big out of town half marathon and showed up to this pre-race function.  It was the only race expo I've ever been to where you could get your nails down, makeup applied , or a vajazzle.

What Steve fails to mention, is that he loved it so much, he signed up for it again. Musta been the vajazzling.

But hey, with this view...maybe he's onto something eh?

Speaking of the view.  Check this guy out.  He pulled up in one of the back rows, laid out his yoga mat, and then just stood there for a half hour with a glazed stare.  We were rolling on the ground laughing.

Oh,.., and I'm already registered for a three-peat.  But it's because it's my wife's favorite event.

My adventure should be to ride in the rain? That doesn't sound all that interesting.

I had considering riding mtb out to the hot springs but its reserved for the weekend.

I mean, if it's about getting out in the bad weather, that's not a problem. I do, and will do that (probably 30 miles of running it in fact) But I wanted to have a proper adventure and was hoping for snow in the mountains. Rain it the mountains is ok I guess but it means no skinning/splitting/snowboarding and no icy waterfalls etc. It just means socked in views and mud. Which I can get right here in the city.

Speaking of FitBit, I'm seriously considering replacing my FitBit One.  I like having a fitness tracker, and my Garmin wouldn't work for daily steps.  I was considering the Apple Watch, but I think that's going to be more than I want to spend and deal with.

Anyone have suggestions?  I like the FitBit Charge HR - it takes your heart rate throughout the day.  Would love to hear what you use.

A coworker of mine has the Charge HR and loves it.  I think that Stacey is also looking at it (or other fitness trackers).  I have the Garmin because I am in Garmin Connect anyway and because I can't be bothered with recharging another thing and this sucker has a 1 year battery.  Fitbit is cooler though ;-)

I believe that DC Rainmaker is expected to have a review of the FitBit Charge HR sometime this week. I just checked and it's not there yet.

Oh, cool.  I look forward to a DC Rainmaker interview.  His are great.

A bunch of representation from my club.

In my opinion, masters runners are the epitome of success. If you are able to keep running well into your 50s, 60s, 70s (OMG 90s!) I think you are winning life.

That is so awesome! Although the idea of having my azz handed to me by a 78 year old is terrifying, motivating and empowering.

In other news...

Anyone use Nuun?  I'm not a fan but it will be the course drink for my marathon.  I tried the lemon-lime  and this morning I found the fruit punch buried in my desk drawer (probably from the last time i tried it). Better than the lemon but couldn't do it for 26 miles. Anyone use it? Specific flavors? Worst case I'll just carry Skratch packets with me.

I use Nuun.  I LOVE it!  The Cherry Limeaid is my favorite.  It has caffeine added to it, though.

Wow, there is a really amazing conversation going on right now on social media.

Lauren Fleshman, per usual, spoke out about the USATF commercial and the Nike sponsorship monopoly in the sport: http://asklaurenfleshman.com/2015/02/usatf-yourwelcome-commercial-the-problem/

Brenda Martinez responded.

http://instagram.com/p/ysWM78yd8M/?modal=true

Then Nick Symmonds called her response cute but myopitc  in the comments portion.

Many more responses, including a comment/reply between those two. Interesting vibes. L-"I do not expect everyone to agree or want to take a leadership role." and B- "I'm aware of what is going on, I'm just choosing not to be a part of it...and I don't need people attacking me for your article."

I am curious about a statement L made about big sponsors. "15 years ago it was Adidas...10 years ago Reebok, and now they're gone. New companies come and flee."  I'm assuming she mean Nike pushes them out, and not that she's fighting the Nike monopoly, while saying history shows that companies come and go.

I don't understand why Brenda thinks she will be "attacked" for Lauren's statements

Yeah. I've actually lost some respect for Brenda.

And where  is that quote at?

In general she's not really in an anti-Nike battle. It's about USATF.

I love how loud Symmonds and Fleshman have been about this.

BTW I know the secret location of the oiselle storefront It is here, as I suspected (which totally makes sense.) Seattle trip soon?

It was in Brenda's IG post yesterday afternoon.

So she sees USATF allowing itself/athletes to be "owned"?  Should there be a min-max limit on sponsorship to level field?

Go Chris, Mike and Katie. Get better Mary, Robin and Nancy.

100+ here again today! got a 2 hour ride scheduled, inside BORING! But it's good because even after sleeping all day yesterday I still got the migraine hangover, brain bashing against the skull thing happening today so a trainer ride is just the ticket cause I can keep my head still.

Happy weekend everyone.

I'm back to enjoying the weather! Thanks for the Manatee love.

As an 8th grade teacher, I'm exposed to all kinds of lovely germs. This week and last, I've had multiple students out with step and H1N1 flu. I was pretty fortunate to just get a lot of head congestion that then had settled in my chest. I'm still a little rattly, but I don't feel like my head is going to explode any longer. I'm fortunate that most of my students have good hearts when I lost my voice on Wednesday and Thursday, so they came to my aid whenever one of their peers would try to take advantage that I literally couldn't raise my voice when someone stepped out of line.

Good luck Chris Mike and Katie!! Kill it!

I did my first three sport brick session this morning. This one was reverse tri order. And wouldn't you know it I hit my dang garmin loop button in the middle of the cycle sending it into T2!!! Argh! Now it almost feels like I didn't do it, lol! Since this week is swim focused, the run and bike were easy pace then hard effort on the swim. I'm very happy with my time but I feel like I'm still learning how much effort to give and be able to maintain it for different periods of time. I was definitely tired at the end of the swim, but I think I had more in the tank.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sometimes that is a really good thing. Take inventory, clean stuff up and clean stuff out.

And lead a beer run! Enjoy.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
