Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5AM. Checked the weather AGAIN and decided on running tights, thin long sleeve shirt, light running jacket, and gloves. Ate PBH waffle at home, downed a 5-hour energy and some green tea on the drive. Parked at Aquarium deck and walked to Starbucks to use the bathroom. Dropped off bag @ bag check and made our way to corral 3. We were in the corral by 6:50 and waited around for the finish. Took off the jacket just before the start. Perfect clothing choice for me.
Event warmup:

Comments:

Great run! Started with Kirk and GW and ended up running the first 5 miles or so with the 3:50 marathon pace group. I guess this guy had a crazy pacing strategy, because we were no where near the 3:50 pace if he was trying to run even splits. The miles went by REALLY quickly until around 9 miles, when I started to feel a little fatigue. The last 2-3 miles were a bit tough, the last 1 mile really sucked. My right knee really started talking then and I was ready to be done.
What would you do differently?:

Huge PR - nothing different right now. :)

Warm down:

Walked around, found some NAMC peeps, stretched a lot. Started to cool down too much and grabbed a space blanket. Got my bag from the check and changed into dry, clean clothes. After finding most of the 1/2 finishers, headed home to prevent getting even colder.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Right knee pain, probably wasted some effort on that pain.

Event comments:

Great course, very organized this year. I felt like there were drink stations at LEAST every mile, although I never used them. The course is definately not flat, but not too painful either. I do not train on hills for the run and it wasn't hilly enough to bother me until the last 2 miles.

Great race!  It was good seeing you before the start.  How's that knee feeling after a day of rest?
