Preschool Montessori Teacher. An 8am-3pm job, 178 days with 2.5 months off for summer vacation. The daily hassles and headaches from some of the parents can make this job extremely hard but I'm here for the kids, all 22 of them.

One thing I love about my job is the people I work with they are all a hard workers and we all get along perfectly, and taveling to warm weather is very nice to. My official title is a Fur Technical Director. What that means is that I groom digital fur and hair onto digital characters and grass onto landscapes for animated feature films. I have worked on Ice Age 2, Horton Hears a Who, and am now working on Ice Age 3.

I guess the part of the job that makes me happy is that I get to be creative 8 hours a day and that in the end all I am doing is making children laugh.

My job can best be described as a chief of staff / lobbyist for a government agency.  I am kinda a spinnster who puts out fires as they occur.

My boss is very cool and laid back.  My hours are VERY flexible as I don't have to be in the office to do 90% of my job.

Not just children.  There were several great lines in all of those movies that made me laugh!  Do you just do hair or feathers as well because the feather-work on Vlad in HHaW was very good.  Which character was your biggest challenge, Manny the mammoth?

And let me guess - your digital landscapes are great but the lawn at your house SUCKS and is the worst in the neighborhood!  Right?  Be honest....  Wink

I am an Account Executive for a liquor distributor..

Get to go on "work" trips to wineries and distilleries. Been to a large brewery in Ireland (guess), a very large tequila distillery in Mexico (again guess), and numerous vineyards in California. Very little work occurs on these trips - - unless you count 'product knowledge'.

And one thing that makes me happy about my job is that they pay me... Oh, wait, can't say that.

Let's try again.

And one thing that makes me happy about my job is that it's only 8.5 miles away and... Oh, yeah, can't say that either.

Um, let's see...

Oh, I got it! I'll try one more time!

And one thing that makes me happy about my job is... Uh... Uh... Hold on, I got it... Uh...

Okay, I guess I got nothin'.

I am a Regional Sales Trainer. I like my job for a few reasons:

-Other than having to be in the office between 9:30am-6:00pm, I have complete control of my schedule during the day. I can easily sneak out at lunch for a workout, a trip to the Bank or a long lunch.

-It is very easy for me to take my vacation time (and I have a TON accrued right now). My team leader said he would probably never deny a request for time off, unless there is a major emergency.

-Our company throws the best partys. Seriously. We have a black-tie holiday party every year in December and there is always a special guest musical act. In the past we've had: DJ Jazzy Jeff, the Back Eyed Peas, and Kid Rock.

See, this is about where I'm at, except instead of a design engineer I'm a test engineer and instead of living 8.5 miles away, I live 62 miles away and spend 3 hours per day riding the bus.

But I do get every other Friday off.

Was a Fireman...30 years...Rode around on a fire truck and did hero work (actually I did the coolest job a Fireman can have...I drove the back end of a Ladder Truck for about 12 years).

Loved to chance to help people that needed it...RIGHT NOW.  Worked 24 hours on and 48 hrs. off and generally worked with folks who were also risk takers and simillarly disfunctional but fun to be around.

Um that is REALLY cool!

For me, I'm in public relations. I get to say "no comment" most of the time. Which is fun. It's also fun when we can actually talk about company news, but it's rare.

I'm also the editor of my company's corporate magazine. So I get to write and do layouts. Love it.

I do Corporate Strategy work for a large consulting firm. One program I run is our Client Loyalty Program, which basically entails working with account teams to gather feedback from their clients, and address any issues that may arise. I really love this area of my job because I get to help busy people do their job better, and hearing firsthand from clients how we've helped them (or not, as the case may be) gives me a renewed sense of purpose for the work we do on a greater level.

I also make a lot of power points, which umm.. does NOT always give me a renewed sense of purpose, but on the other hand, when I think about what our group does -- working to improve the profitability of the firm -- and realize that our company running better and staying in business will continue to employ 17k people, well, that's pretty cool.

Software Developer, writting GIS (Geographical Informations Systems) software. I love the fact that I learn something new everyday. Between the fact that software and languages continue to change and improve and the fact that I don't come from a mapping background, there is always something new to learn.

I've been doing this for almost 10 years and there is still a ton to learn and experience.

Do you work for ESRI? If so, please get ArcGIS working on Vista please... thanks!

Anyway, I am sanitary sewer hydraulic modeler. I plan sewer system rehabilitation and upgrades for our clients. Everything from new lines that needed to be upgraded yesterday, to planning out systems in 2038. What I love about my job is that its like playing a video game called SimSewer all day. I do stay grounded in reality though once I realize that my work is effecting thousands of people and their health/safety. The worst part about the job is that people generally don't even care what happens to stuff after it flushes or how much work goes into these things until its spilling out a manhole in their yard. Then, the person is quite upset that the city can't afford to fix it, even though they personally voted down the tax increase that was needed to do it...

I am a Peoplesoft Application Consultant for HR. I work at a university where I work 35 hours a week with lots of vacation and extra time off... I geta really Cheap gym membership, I have a short commute, I get to solve complex problems all the time and test out new situations with the system. I work with some really smart people.

I also work for a Dog Agility Training business where I teach people how to have fun with their dogs... I also get to have fun with their dogs... and for some reason, people think I am a dog whisperer because I can get almost any dog to do anything in about 5 minutes. Dogs are always happy to see me and I am always happy to see them too. (I may also be buying this company, although I haven't decided yet). The dogs are always cooler than the people.

I also run a Headhunting business in my other spare time where I get to call people and offer them jobs. I am surprised that a lot of people seem put off by Headhunters... All I do is call you and chat and ask you if you like your job and if you are interested in other opportunities. I enjoy talking to people and I get paid to call random strangers and find out about what they do... and if I am really tricky, I get them to tell me about their dogs... which feeds into $$$ for job ## 2 if I try really hard.

I am a small business owner.  I am a manufacturers sales rep for companies in the Life Sciences field.  I took my years of operations management experience for a large medical/research school and turned it into something that I hope will be profitable for me and my family.  So far so good.

What I like most: I set my own schedule, have very few real deadlines and can train most anytime I want.

What I don't like: pressure to chase down sales and keep things moving at a pace that satisfies the companies that I work with
