I REALLY hope that is the right temperature, the other water temps I've been reading have been making me very nervous!! I love wearing a wetsuit, but I don't want to freeze inside it! |

Coach 10487 Boston, MA | Subject: RE: Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon Whizzzzz - 2008-07-24 6:38 AM I am up for anything, if we are going to dinner we need to get a revservation soon (I would assume) and try to make it on the early side... I wouldn't mind cooking at the Jazz house either if that is more convenient for all. I can got to wholefoods with Robyn on Thurs night and get whatever we need and then just settle the bill at the house. We could go for pasta, some protein (meat, chicken, fish) and lots of veggies Are we going to do dinner on Friday night? If so, where, or how? Cooking at home or at some sort of restaurant? I'm getting excited!! PS. I swear I know how to cook in case any of you are wondering... |

Master 1920 Ann Arbor, MI | Subject: RE: Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon My preference is to have Master Chef Jorge cook for us at the Jazz house on Friday night He is an excellent cook, and that way we don't have to worry about reservations or anything. We will already have 14 or so people there, so it would be hard to find anywhere else to accomadate such a large group. |

Cooking at home or at some sort of restaurant? I'm getting excited!! I can still get us a reservation at Tosi's. In the poll so far, that is the most favored option. Its VERY good food. It's where Al Capone used to go during his summer's on the Michgan beaches. They have an early dinner special that would be perfect. |

Master 2202 Canton, Michigan | Subject: RE: Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon I think the house dinner sounds great. If we bring along some paper plates, etc, it will make clean up a breeze. I'll see what we have left after were done here in the Outer Banks and I may have some or all the stuff we may need. Wish I could hang out Saturday night, but Matt and I have to head for home after the race, as we both have some things going on with family and friends. |

I talked to the landlord, and for a sit down dinner, we can't accomadate too many more than are staying. I think the best plan would be to have a post-race BBQ at the house. A gas BBQ and charcoal grill are provided, and the house has beach access, so as long as people bring things to sit on and food to grill, we could have a post-race get together. |

(If Jorge want's smacktalk, he will get some smacktalk..... ) cornelius300 is coming with us and there is no way Jorge is a better cook than Greg. And the GA crew has a house of our own. We might just need an Iron Chef thing. Too bad we all have a race to think about. |

But if anyone's interested in collaborating on a menu, I'll bring it all and cookit. |

Cold water is a plus...just double bag yourself (that's two swim caps, perverts) and make sure you get a warmup, so the 'face in the water' thing doesn't cause undue stress. Then, cold is a normal swim. |

Coach 10487 Boston, MA | Subject: RE: Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon Those who have raced/ridden the Steelhead bike course, how hilly or flat would you say it is? Does it has a few hills as Kessignton? Is it technical (a lot of turns) that might slow you down? what about wind; is it usually windy? I changed my mind, if I am going to do it I might as well race it (not too fast unfortunately) and try to secure a Clearwater slot. I want to have an idea of how fast I could ride given my current fitness |

Sounds like we might have enough to run two dinners. MBmoran, we could make reservations at Tosi's for as many as they can accomodate and others could go to the Jazz house. I don't know most of the Bt'rs yet, so even though dinner at the Jazz house(whatever that is) sounds great, I can be perfectly happy at Tosi's. Besides, I want to bring my non-tri wife (official, unofficial event photographer, give her/me your bib number and e-mail and we will send whatever pics she gets of you after the race.) to dinner. I would make reservations at Tosi's soon though. |
