Good luck at Gulf Coast this weekend.  The weather conditions, road, other athletes ... whatever - race your race and enjoy every minute of it.

May the wind be at your back the entire ride.

Yeah...maybe it'll be 50 degrees on the run, too.

Good luck everyone! And don't forget your sunscreen.

Man I couldn't believe how many Atlanta people there were there. It seems like everyone I passed (or that passed me) was like Go Atlanta!

The race was great. I love it and I'll do it every year that I can. Here's my take......

Water: Not as rough as last year

Bike: Just as windy as last year

Run: I felt like I was on fire

I echo everyone else.

The swim wasn't too choppy but the it pushed you around.  If Carole Sharpless only swims it in 29, I don't feel so bad.

Bike was fine.  Tailwind going out, noticeable headwind coming back.

Run...brutal.  I have never drank so much on the run.  I stopped at mile 3 and drank two cups of ice water.  EVERY aid station was 2-3 ice waters on the body.  I am not lying that my shoes are STILL wet this morning.

Look at the run times.  Very few went under 1:35.  You could have a subpar run and get hardware.

I will add that of all my races I have ever done, I walked away from GCT thinking this might have been the best experience.  They knew what they were doing down there.

Great job to everybody out there who finished the race. When it's that hot and there isn't any time to acclimate to those conditions in training, the run becomes more like a marathon than a half. I thought people did a good job managing the conditions, especially in the swim and the run. Again, congrats to everybody who competed this weekend.

I know I'm happy.  My first 1/2 iron, my run sucked and my bike could have been faster (but I'd have to have a tri bike instead of hoofing it out old school), but I still walked away with hardware.

Life is good when you're a big girl that doesn't know how to Stop.
