Well, I suspect when they signed on for the show, they had a thought that (and I can see the producers not attempting to dissuade them of this) the show would be more like a documentary, and it would stay at that. Seriously - if someone said they wanted to "document" my life, I'd think - "well, my life isn't that interesting" and I could make some quick cash and then drop out. Well, the show exploded, and suddenly there's all this "stardom" that I didn't expect and I wasn't fully prepared to handle it. I'm not trying to appologize for them, but I sincerely doubt they sat down with the producers and planned out a way to ruin their lives on the tv screen. I also think that any camera person could put together 21 minutes a week of me being a bad father. Not because I'm a bad father 100% of the time, but certainly for 21 minutes I'm not at the top of my game. |

If you watch the show you would see that there is some seriously uncomfortable interactions between J & K (when they can't avoid each other entirely), so I doubt it's a ratings scheme. I was hoping the announcement would be: "We realized that doing this show has turned us into crazy people and we're not behaving like nice spouses and parents therefore we will be canceling our TV contract so we can get back to being a real family and taking care of business like normal people." Oh wait, that would be too smart. |

Rumors in town for years before the show were that Jon was a slacker whose family worried that he was not going to accomplish much. (We are also Taylor Swift's home town, where she lived until about 7th grade. She's just one year ahead of my youngest daughter. But that's another thread) well, he still didn't. I mean the doctors even fertilized the eggs for him. just sayin. and I SWEAR to god if she's pregnant I will laugh so hard!!! (I didn't even THINK of that) Kate didn't have IVF. She took something to ovulate more. Rumor has it that she hyperstimulated the cycle she got pregnant with the sextuplets and the doctors advised her not to get pregnant. She did anyway. |

I should have said that "for a few years after we moved here, his father was my kids' dentist." He (Jon's father) did pass away a few years ago, but Jon had his dad the whole time he was growing up. BTW, we changed dentists because my kids hated going to him. He was the only "pediatric dentist" specialist in town. But we found a family dentist who they like much better. Who is of course much more expensive. And used to own a million dollar+ mansion in town. But again, that's another thread. |
