Riviera Beach Sprint Tri - Triathlon

View Member's Race Log
Riviera Beach,
Sunny
Total Time = 1h 11m
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 1/3
Pre-race routine:

Ate cheerios w/ milk, half banana. Drove 35 mins to race site with Barry and Ana.
Event warmup:

Racked bike, talked to Ana and Barry...tested the water. Gorgeous day out!
Swim
  • 10m 36s
  • 400 meters
  • 02m 39s / 100 meters
Comments:

Felt really really good on the swim. Current helped a lot. Unfortunately had to run up a sand bank to get to T1. Not fun at all. My heart was racing by the time I was off on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Get better goggles! Mine leaked water.
Transition 1
  • 00m 59s
Comments:

Very pleased with my time here.
Bike
  • 30m 33s
  • 10 miles
  • 19.64 mile/hr
Comments:

Again, very pleased with my bike. I love my new Kilo! It just needs a new saddle. My private "area" was so sore and numb I almost couldn't take it. :(
Transition 2
  • 01m 9s
Comments:

Need to practice getting socks on with shoes. I think sitting on the ground is easier to do. But I was glad I put socks on. No blisters for this girl!
Run
  • 27m
  • 3 miles
  • 09m  min/mile
Comments:

Run was great except the part where we had to run up and down the overpass twice! (The same one we biked over). I felt like I was running backwards at times, it was so steep! The downhill was awesome though. I got a cramp in my side right before mile 2 and I walked for about 15 secs. It finally went away after the water station. I felt really good on the run, too. Wasn't thirsty or anything. My hydration was perfect!
Post race
Warm down:

Drank water, took pictures, talked with Barry, waited for Ana to finish. We stayed for the awards ceremony, and i got first place in my age group! Really excited about that. :)
