DW and I spent our 18th Wedding Anniversary riding the Eagleman Course.  No cards, no presents.  Just a day together and a malted milk shake at Sonic.

if she is with it...then it is awesome.  what makes your marriage work after 18 yrs would make others fall apart, so no one can judge what makes yall good.

and, I think you get extra points romantically for the sonic shakes!

Sounds great to me.  Wouldn't work over here at my household but wish it would.   Well, the Sonic part would have gone over well.  I am not sure I would call it romantic per say, more like a nice day together.  Not sure lycra and romantic ever go together.

How about 'other'.  Not romantic or crazy but a nice way to spend a day.  Doesn't mean you can't celebrate another day with some quality time though.

Very Romantic, spending time together doing something you both enjoy. I just would have upgraded from the milk shake at sonic, gone a little callier you know

I love it! Sounds like the right 'date' for the two of you ...

My fiance proposed to me after he did Muskoka 70.3 last year - very appropriate to our relationship. :D

Doughboy and I spent our 17th running the Cowtown Half Marathon.  Tried to finish in 2:27:17 (m:d:y) but it did not work out that way.

This year that are changing the date of the race and we will be spending 18 running Cowtown!  So Crazy..maybe but also romantic!

I know Paper is the traditional gift for one's 1st anniversary, but I never knew for one's 18th that it is a malt shake.

I would love it if my husband would spend a day on a bike with me.  Sadly, he isn't interested in riding.

We spent our 17th anniversayr building the framing for a house that will be used in a Habitat for Humanity build a couple weeks ago.

1stTimeTri - 2010-05-25 12:28 PM I know Paper is the traditional gift for one's 1st anniversary, but I never knew for one's 18th that it is a malt shake.

Well, if you stick to the periodic table, the 18th is Ar (Argon, a noble gas with low thermal conductivity).   I found reference of uses of Argon in wine making (tops off barrels to prevent the oxidation of ethanol), so perhaps it gets used in dairy as well?

We are coming up on #6.  #6 is carbon.  We already have a carbon fiber bikes, so a bike ride will be on order.   But I have pointed out that diamonds are made of carbon as well.....  so.....  ah....

But back to the OP - I am sure this was perfect for you two.  Congratulations on 18 years!   Your marriage is old enough to vote!
