All the swimming shampoo is doing is counter acting the chlorine.  You can do this by making a paste out of Baking Soda and water and washing your hair with that.  That does the trick.

I heart me some Tri-swim.  It also doubles as a great body wash.

Mike, do you honestly bring baking soda to the pool???  Doesn't that become a PIA?

I used to.  I color my hair though, and I noticed that color wasn't lasting.  Then I found out that the ingredient that strips clorine out of hair also strips color out of hair.  So now I just use my color safe Kenra, and just wash immediately after swimming followed by a good conditioner.  Once a week or so I deep condition.

I don't use that at the pool. Just some regular shampoo.  I save the baking soda for home when my hair gets bad.

I use some all in one baby shampoo-conditioner-body wash I found in our house.  It's worked well so far.  The only thing my stylist said to me is that it needs to be washed out right after I get out of the pool to prevent any damage.  If you color your hair, then use a good conditioner as well.

Meh. I've been swimming most of my life and I don't think I've ever used anything special for my hair. Just regular shampoo and the occasional use of conditioner - what I would use whether I'm swimming or not. If you're a male with short hair I supposed you can put up with it more easily than someone with long hair. Plus, I dig the crunchiness after it dries when my swim volume picks up; doubles as hair gel. Cool

My hair is fairly short (and thinning...ugh) so I don't have a problem.

My daughter has very thick red hair, and it the swim shampoo really helps her alot.  I've tried using her swim shampoo a couple of times, but didn't notice any real difference.

I wear a swim cap all the time and regular shampoo works just fine.  When I first started, I did not use a cap and I got crunchy, chloriney hair.

After what is left of my hair started getting really fried last year I started using one.  I was starting to turn blond.

I picked up a kid's swimming shampoo/conditioner and have been using it for the last month but I can't tell the difference between that and what I was using.  That could just be due to me using a clarifying shampoo regularly anyway.

Another vote for Tri-swim.  My hair gets really fried without it.

Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle, shampoo and conditioner.  Something like $3.99/bottle.  Smells nice and wake-me-up, leaves hair shiny (i have probably bra-strap-level long red hair,) so i'm pleased.  Smile

I use some kind of shampoo the swim shop sells, it's safe for the suit too, so far so good. But I always wet my hair thoroughly and glob on contidioner and then put the cap on, hair stays healthy.
