Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: 02.09.2012 Thpeedy Thurthday!!! What's on Thursday's tap, fellow tri fans? 3875m pool swim for me, and an hour's run split evenly between aquajog and road (a few minutes' transition in between). |

Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: 02.09.2012 Thpeedy Thurthday!!! 3875--Ugh! Hope is wasn't all fly! 2500m swim for me, inc. 4 X 400 in 6:44, 6:43, 6:42, 6:40 (directions were to "hold a steady pace"--not fast, but definitely steady--my one talent in life LOL). 65 minutes (33.6 km) of Jorge torture shortly after. The weird thing is I felt the crappiest at the start of the swim warmup and the best at the end of the bike! Ready for bed! Edited by Hot Runner 2012-02-09 8:23 AM |

Picked up some bug from the germ magnet that is work. That used to never happen. Residual effects of the chemo last year? Who knows? Will spend enough energy to update my resume and CV and apply to that job in Honolulu. It's a pipe dream and a long shot but who knows? Pass me a tissue please. If I feel better this afternoon I will spin a bit. Is it a measure of fitness that even when under the weather one feels the need to get one's exercise fix in? Don't much care for this type of down time. Even in winter. Still thinking about the thread about coolest things done. Probably won't post; don't want to scare anyone. LOL, nope, even I'm not crazy enough to do a 3875 fly ... at this critical juncture in IM training. There was 150 fly in there, though. There's always some fly. Feeling best at the end of the Jorge barf fest means that you have a very well tuned endurance engine. Sleep well! |

Master 2770 Central Kansas | Subject: RE: 02.09.2012 Thpeedy Thurthday!!! The PH balance at the pool was off this morning, so no swimming this morning. I might try again this afternoon. Other than that, I need to get a run in. I'm feeling better but still coughing, so still drained and unmotivated. :-( |

Is it a measure of fitness that even when under the weather one feels the need to get one's exercise fix in? Don't much care for this type of down time. Even in winter. I felt run down on Monday and Tuesday so took the days off on the insistence of my husband, who figured the down time would prevent me from getting a full blown cold. He was right, I avoided getting sick, but like MadMathemagician (best user name evar!) I felt the itch to get some exercise in. Two days of inactivity and I was losing my mind. I would never have felt like that 6 months ago. Yay exercise! Today - last swim lesson of this session and I got a lesson in practicing with a pull buoy. Boy that's weird. It taught me how ineffectual my arms are when doing back crawl. :P It did help me focus on my pull for the front crawl, so that's good. Just gotta get over the tippy feeling of the pull buoy. Also, tried the first of 3 drills I saw on youtube about how to do open turns properly. Until the latest thread that turned into a flip turn vs. open turn showdown, I assumed an open turn meant you swim to the end, don't touch the wall and sort of turn around or something. I didn't know it was a technique. After such heated debate I figured I should look into the whole open turn business and I realise it's what I should be doing, instead of grabbing the wall, pulling myself around, then turning around to continue. Since I'm still too freaked out to do flip turns, open turns look like a good thing for me to learn. Enough rambling. Hope everyone has a great day! |

Master 6834 Englewood, Florida | Subject: RE: 02.09.2012 Thpeedy Thurthday!!! I have 4 miles of fartleks on the schedule for this evening. That ought to keep out of the house for a bit, which keeps me out of the pantry, which keeps me on track weightwise. If I go through another night at home alone, the pantry just might be empty. Enjoy the day everyone. |

Je reve des grande tetons de Yanti. Je reve du dormir dans les grande tetons de Yanti. Il y a la meilleure medicine. Sorry, don't remember if French is one of your languages. I think Honolulu would be the one place dad would like to revisit. Dad was in the Navy and served during the Korea Conflict. Gonna rest a bit then meet the daughter of a friend to tutor her a bit in Linear Algebra. Her dad's an engineer and she's a wannabe engineer. She goes to UAH.

I can read French reasonably well, if it's, say, Dumas instead of Derrida. Almost well enough to correct what you wrote but je suis heureuse. and Linear Algebra! the memories! |
