Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Cuuuute! Looks like my Momo--adopted more than 15 years ago after a long saga involving her mom being hit by a car and all her littermates starving to death; she was found near death at about 4 weeks by my colleague's daughter in a bar parking lot, a month of tube, then bottle feeding, followed by three traumatic months with my colleague and her six enormous dogs. Momo will be 16 in April and still going strong. I know from all the cat ads in our local paper that the shelters have a harder time finding homes for black cats--can't believe people are still going in for such superstition! My latest "foster" is one of a record-setting (for the local rescue center, at least) litter of nine. Eight survived, Mom Cat ate the runt a few weeks later. Mine's the second smallest survivor. Guess I have a soft spot for tough survivor cats. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So the good news first. The cat went to PAWS today. Health is pretty good, FIV/FELV negative, only problem was a little frostbite which I can treat with polysporin. PAWS is wonderful, an exam, FIV?FELV test, shots, deworming, and nail clipping were only $55. The bad news is that "Mollie" has testicles. Or had, given that he had been spayed. So now we need a new name. He's completely bonded with my son, so at least that part of the plan held together. Plus my cats don't seem to care too much. Congratulations and thank you again for taking him in from the cold. |

Clay is sleeping in my sons bed, I think he's one smart kitty. Originally posted by BrianRunsPhilly So the good news first. The cat went to PAWS today. Congratulations and thank you again for taking him in from the cold. Isn't Clay the one they're always trying to kill off? Anyways, good name for a kitty, nine lives, and thank you for taking one of 'em Happy (David) and Romeo (Danny) are good friends of mine. I've never watched any of it but David especially says it's some really good shyte P.S. He gets around on a pink scooter when he's here. I took a picture of him on it and he said he'd kill me if I ever posted it, but he never said anything about writing it. P.P.S. Both he and Danny are kittens! Yeah, they've had hard lives and been badazzes and really scrabbled their way up, but the sweetest, gentlest souls in person. And they talk AS MUCH and JUST LIKE, y'know, YEAH, LIKE teenage girls, DUH! Edited by IndoIronYanti 2014-01-25 12:29 AM |

New user![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Congrats on the new cat- glad to hear everything went well at the vet and that they are all getting along. Funny story to share - the timing of this thread couldn't get better. My husband worked at home on Friday and in the middle of the day, I got an email to my phone with a photo attachment - the email was along the lines of "meet our new cat". He's a stray who has been hanging around our property for a week or so (we've seen his footprints). We have a mouse problem, so inviting him in seemed like a win-win scenario. I guess Friday morning, he showed up at the front door and was "communicating" with one of our dogs through the window. He's a friendly, cuddly little thing (even though I'm not really a cat person, I can't help but like him). The dogs are adjusting (kind of) to the point that they can all be loose in the house (the cat just hides on top of the fridge). I hope they'll all eventually relax around each other, but only time will tell.. |
