Good morning! on tap for me today: swim 2.4, bike 112, run 26.2! No time goal--with the triple digit heat the goal is to stay healthy and finish upright! A big thanks to BT! I started this journey 5 years ago when I signed up for my first sprint. Up until 2 years ago I didn't believe I could do a full Ironman--that was for the crazy people! Now here I am, about to join the crazies! I'm not sure at one point I 'took over' starting the daily workout thread but it has been just as much a part of my training as swim, bike, run. I've loved being a part of this little group--thank you! Have a great day!

GO FOR IT! I'm heading out for my last long brick for a while in about an hour but except for that I'll be tracking you if I can. Stay safe and just keep plugging away until you see a finish line! While you haven't yet inspired me to do a full IM (I'm not sure anyone can), you (and reported workouts) have been what's gotten me through my own training many, many times. ("She's a teacher too, and she gets up even earlier. If she can do it, so can I!") Have an awesome time becoming one of the crazies.

BTW Does anyone have Kim's race number, or know her last name? I think she posted it somewhere but I can't find it now.

Good luck today! You'll be in my prayers. One more rest day for me. Tomorrow I'll be back at it, but the doctor says to take it easy, nothing that would put internal bleeding at risk(if you don't know what I'm talking about, check my post in yesterday's thread).
P.S. To answer your question, HotRunner, I think Kim's last name is Reamer.

Kim's bib is 841.  1:37 for the swim so far.

I got up early to beat the heat, but not early enough. I did 7 out of the 10 planned miles today and felt like garbage during most of it. Yesterday I slept for 3 hours after my run so maybe my body is telling me something. Looks like another nap today.

And to echo Hot Runner's good words, yes Kim's daily posts are an incredible inspiration. It's hard enough to do all those workouts, but try doing it as a wife and mother with a full time job. You've got to get up pretty damn early in the mornin!

Good luck to all those reaching for the stars today. I've been watching sigma in France but his day may be done unless the athlete tracker is acting up.

Have a great race!

12 mile run for me today. The last long run before my first 70.3 in 2 weeks. Trying to keep my nerves steady with the event looming large.

Hope you have a great race. We went down to watch the swim start and stayed until the last person came out, so cheered for you at some point

Did a short 45 min run at 11AM and it was already unpleasantly hot. Hope you are able to race smart and stay safe today. Will be at the finish line later this evening so hopefully will get to cheer you in.

Very unfair, but we are having a cool day here in Oregon and I had an awesome long brick--3:15 ride and 52 minute run. Beautiful ride along the McKenzie River and through farm country, and brick run along one of our great wood-chip trails. That workout is a death march in Saigon, but real pleasure here.

Go Kim! About to check athlete tracker again, then get me some "refueling". She's through 91 miles of the bike in 8:16:30 race time; slowed down a bit but good average pace. At least temps should start heading downward by the time she starts the run.

She is past 6.6 miles on the run but she needs to keep up her pace to finish within the time limit. Looks like it might be close.....G0 KIM!

Yep, according to my calculations, even if she walked from here, she'd make it before the cutoff.  Kim, if you can hear me, dig deep, and don't waste any time stopping for a potty break, just pee your pants!

PS, I was whining just from having to walk from my car to the grocery store entrance in the heat today, and even Texas wasn't as hot as Coeur d' Alene. Can't imagine what they're all going through right now

Going to be tight. A bit over half done with the run and she needs to keep sub-17 minute pace to make it. She had some stretches that were around that but the last few splits have been faster--maybe something to do with the course. At any rate it should be getting dark so at least things should be cooling off there. Don't think I'm going to be able to stay awake to track her to the end--too tired from long brick today! GO KIM!

She is still plugging away--about 10 km to go and a bit under two hours to do it--her projected finish time right now is 16:43. GO KIM!

Congratulations Kim!!!

I was racing yesterday as well. I know the determination and courage it took to complete that race. When you wear your 2015 IM Coeur d'Alene finisher gear other IM racers will know that you completed a difficult and special race. Wear it with pride.
