1502 Katy, Texas | Subject: Strava Users I have recently discovered Strava, and am totally digging it, but I have like two connections on there. Is there a BT group out there in Strava-land? Could we create one if not, or just list our names/usernames here so we could all connect? |

Strava is pure evil...especially when you start battling for KOMs. Stay away. You've been warned. |

Member 622 Franklin, TN | Subject: RE: Strava Users There are segments that people create (usually cycling) and there's a leaderboard for those segments...the fastest times on those segments get a KOM or QOM (King or Queen of the mountain). |

Oh OK, I know what those are. There are way too many roadies that ride where I do to even think about bike segments, but there are a number of run segments around me that are tempting to go after. |

I find the analysis stuff way better than anything BT has to offer. The premium stuff is really slick (power curve, fitness/freshness, etc.). Here's my profile if you want to follow: https://www.strava.com/athletes/320678 I've been lifting more, so I'm not cycling as seriously as I have been. |

Although, with all the flooding we have here, I could have created swim segments around my neighborhood yesterday. |

A couple from mentor groups here, some local stuff as well. Hit me up, it keeps things interesting. |

We haven't done a 3mar contest in a while. I don't need any more temptation. I've been failing miserably at running easy lately, and there is a 0.7 mile loop around a lake I run that has a KOM currently at a 6:13 pace, that I know I could get. |

We haven't done a 3mar contest in a while. So I told myself that if I did this today instead of my easy run, I'd be done with my "running rebellion" and go back to going slow. The past week has been a bit of a binge on running where all the slow miles just got to me and I had to go. I did a tempo Thursday, a 55/5 brick Saturday, 10 Sunday, 800 repeats yesterday and now this nonsense. I swear, I'm done. Rock bottom or whatever. Back on the wagon I swear.... 812 Katy, Texas | Subject: RE: Strava Users Nice work on the CR! I've found that many of the longer popular KOMs are within reach for us tri folks as we have an aero advantage and like to hold steady paces for long periods of time. Pair that up with a nice tail wind, and BAM! Our cycling club does dominate most of the KOMs in your area though 3mar. Another reason to come join us, resistance is futile. https://www.strava.com/athletes/7420460 |

Master 3127 Sunny Southern Cal | Subject: RE: Strava Users The first KOM I just pulled up for one of my routes is owned by a retired pro. Yah, good luck with that. Now, that's really got my curiosity going. I'll have to see how far I can get up the climb in the time that it took him to complete it. I'll feel good if I'm even half way. |

Veteran 976 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Strava Users Rather than starting a new thread I figured I'd necro this thread to see if anyone wanted to post their profile to get some more activity in their Strava feed. Mine is below if anyone wants a clinic on sporadic training with minimal direction. After the new year it will be tightened up and resemble something other than "raking leaves until my hands fall off" and "taking the kids trick or treating". https://www.strava.com/athletes/5128339 |

Its a great tool for him to monitor my progress and its encouragement for me to see others training and push to put in the time and effort...(considering work, family, etc. take up most of my time I get that little extra encouragement seeing fellow athletes at it!) I use a Garmin and its nice to have it automatically upload to Strava and have everything at my fingertips. This is me: https://www.strava.com/athletes/13841255 |
