Subject: RE: Manatees Roar into the 20s! CLOSEDNot sure. We weren't having severe weather when it happened, just the usual winter rain and a bit breezy. The outage was fairly local (about 500 households spread along one long, steep street that we live on a cul de sac off of and several blocks to either side ). Guessing that there may have been a branch blown loose after a big wind and rain storm blew in from the coast on Monday night. It's not uncommon for them just to hang precariously and then fall suddenly when jostled a bit more, sometimes days later. It's something I'm always aware of after storms, especially when running trails!
The power company (or whoever is responsible for the property? ) really needs to trim some branches. There are a couple of wooded vacant lots down the hill and tons of tree limbs are growing between the power lines there. It's an accident waiting to happen (and probably one that happened ). |
