  • Comments: This race has grown quite a bit and it was logistically fairly simple to run. Lots of volunteers and the course was somewhat hilly. I just didn't like some sections that had horrible roads with bumps/potholes that made it very tricky to run fast on.

  • Comments: Always a well-done event. Finished the 5-year medal series this time, completing the "star". Even though I was notable slower than last year's PR, I ran a really good race for my fitness level.

  • Comments: Another great year for the Cowtown half marathon! I finished my medal series! Woo-Hoo! Lots of friendly volunteers to help out, and having an aid station close to every mile on the course was nice. My only "needs improvement" would be the after race shirt pick-up. The line was OUTRAGEOUS. They had it right last year, and there weren't any lines. This year, they funneled everyone down to a small table for their race distance (half marathon, marathon, ultra). Which meant the 2:30-3:00 finishers for the half marathon stood in a very long, slow moving line. Oh well, the shirt was well worth the wait! I also got a cool bag because it was my 5th year in a row!

  • Comments: Overall a good race. They did much better this year with where the food and race t-shirts were placed. Although it was a challenge for non-racers to move around to be with racers. Much improved over last year though. I like Cowtown and will be back in 2013!

  • Comments: As my third Cowtown this was the best one yet! There were TONS of supporters, officers and spectators! The process of getting into the corral's went MUCH smoother than last year; the water stations were well manned; the process to pick up the after race food/tshirt and the like was MUCH better than last year. Overall, very impressed! The ONLY downside I can say is that the pre-race goody bag is pretty lame for the 2nd year in a row!

  • Comments: This was my 3rd Cowtown and I just love this race... love getting to go out of town and stay at a hotel with my running buds, love the whole atmosphere, and love having that goal to train for. My 3rd Cowtown, and my best one yet!

  • Comments: It was at a new venue this year. Venue and course were fine. I hope in the upcoming years they figure out how to get people through the food line and into the T-shirt "room" quicker. The lines were horrible. The two t-shirts were nice though and the food was fine. I was just happy to park so close to the start line.

  • Comments: Like the new location and course, although that hill in mile 10 is a bit sadistic. Great volunteers, well organized, loved the upgraded shirts this year. Parking was close and easy in/out. The finshers medal series has had us hooked for 3 years, and we hope to collect the last 2 as well.

  • Comments: Good race! I hope they keep the same route next year so I can really compare times. It was a little warm, and very humid and windy. There were water and Power Ade stations every mile and a half, so that was awesome! I skipped about 3 of them and walked through the rest. I ate a Gu at mile 4.25, 7.75 and 10.75, but I was still dragging at the end. Had a GREAT time with my BT friend, Tammy (TTucker)!

  • Comments: The format of this race needs serious evaluation. Spending the last two miles of a half picking your way through people who are 8 abreast on the course walking a 10K is no fun!

  • Comments: A few issues getting the race started, but overall a great event. Expo is OK for marathon, but not nearly as extravagant as White Rock. However, food tent afterwards is great (even beer and ice cream!) Not as much live music on the course as last year, but aid stations were well staffed and plenty of cheering.

  • Comments: gender - 394th place - 2334 total men w/2:08:00 avg. 10k: 52:19 (8:25), 745 (overall) 10 Mile: 1:22:49 (8:17), 586 (overall) 13.1: 1:46:48 (8:09), 494 (overall) I like negative splits. Serious lack of bands/music on the 1/2 mary course. They didn't do a good job explaining the corral system for the starts. Also, the corrals were not well marked. Should have had tall signs up in the air for folks to line up behind. Putting up the rope just didn't work for the crowd which is used to a mass start. Announcer caused confusion, too, with mixed messages.
