  • Comments: Good race. Lots of volunteers and drink stations. It started raining hard shortly after I crossed the finish line so I don't know about post race activities. I would recommend doing this race.

  • Comments: It was a very good race in my Half Ironman training and I accomplished my goal for the race/training although I would have liked to have a better time. I am still middle of the pack slow but doing well considering I have only been doing tri's for a year.

  • Comments: I really appreciate all the volunteers. I would have liked to see a few more people around, especially in the morning, directing people. parking was bad, but whats new. Transition was a little awkward since it was a parking lot, there was a big grass area separating the two areas and everyone had to go all the way around it each time. I would really like to see something other than Heed on the course and at the finish. Eww. I think the swim course could have been planned out a little better, as well as the run course. There was no need to have a trail run with all those roads around the park. And two loops? But, for a smaller race in the middle of no where, it could have been much worse. I probably won't do it again, but that's mostly because of the drive. Good series though, glad I got to do two of them this year. So I thought a lot about this race and had very conflicting thoughts for a while. I was letting my AG place take presedence over my performance. It really doesn't

  • Comments: I enjoyed the race although it is really out of the way to get too (probably why it is lightly attended). I was happy to see that I could maintain a good run pace (although it makes me realize that I could have drastically cut my FL70.3 time if I had remembered my pace watch). Pretty well organized (they left the Heed so they can't get a top rating for organized), however, it is a long way from Atlanta and they did a good job of getting a lot done in a relatively remote place.

  • Comments: though my swim was better than last year it was still poor and not worth jack. the bike leg was an embaracement, and the run was the same as walking.

  • Comments: The volunteers who help out with the Tri the Parks series are AWESOME! There were so many people out there to help us, and that made this race. Russell was a good first oly. I enjoyed it, and if I can, I'll be doing it next year. And I will put in more hill training beforehand!

  • Comments: Another great Tri the Parks event. Tri Blue Sky does a great job with their race series. The state park, a bit of a far drive from Atlanta, was beautiful. The course is by no means easy, but it is a great, scenic course. The race is an International distance event, but is not what I consider the standard Olympic distance length so is probably a great distance for those trying to move to longer than sprint races. I think I got lucky with the weather this year being overcast, because the bike and run courses could be brutal in hot, sunny conditions.

  • Comments: Great race. As always, well-organized and well run. Transition area was fine, too. As far as nutrition; since this was my first Olympic, this is also the first race where I had to worry about nutrition. I actually was quite happy with my choices. The Powerbar gel every 30 min on the bike kept my energy levels high, and I didn't bonk on the run. Overall, since my goal was to finish under 3 hours, and I actually finished under 2h 30 min, I was pretty pleased. I actually think I liked this race better than the sprints. I will probably try more Olys in the future.

  • Comments: A great race. I've been impressed with the Tri the Parks series. They run an efficient, no-frills event. Parks are beautiful and I get to see areas of the state that I would have never seen otherwise. Getting to Elberton is tough and this may prevent me from doing this again next year. But overall I really enjoyed it.

  • Comments: Finishers of this race included a 12 year old boy and an 85 year old man. I passed one guy on the bike course about halfway through and an hour later, while I was halfway through the run, I saw him limping in on a flat tire. What a ride that must have been. The best part of this race, though, was watching Kelly come through the finish full throttle to win her division.

  • Comments: Some people don't like the tri the parks, I guess since I haven't done too many other races, I don't have anything really to compare. I think next year I will revisit a few of the races that I liked in this series, but venture out and tri some other races as well.

  • Comments: A standard Tri the Parks event, good but not great. Kind of pricey for this level. This was another PR for me, last winter's work is really paying off!

  • Comments: This is my 4th race, and 3 of them have been this tri-the-parks series. Last week I did West Point Lake Tri and was absolutely blown away by how well it was done. This series is just not as good. I really did enjoy it, but I can tell that it is not put together as well.

  • Comments: No results available at race due to rain and computer issues. Results should be posted later today (dying to know how I placed. Should have had Gatorade on the run course (a two + hour race demands more than water). Could have had a bottle exchange on the bike course. Woohoo! 1st in my last ever Clydesdale race!

  • Comments: I met ALL of my goals: 1) Finish, 2) Have Fun, 3) Don't DFL, 4a) Finish the swim in less than 30 minutes, 4b) Finish the bike in 1:15, 4c) Finish the run in under 1 hour, 5) Finish the whole shebang in under 3 hours. I had a great race. Freestyled the whole swim (breathing and sighting were great!), good bike (would have like to have hit around 18.5 - 19 mph on the bike), and a better than expected run (<1 hour was a goal but not something I thought I'd be able to attain).
