  • Comments: The Beaver Freezer is a great first-timer race. The timing company (Race Wire messed up and could not produce the splits. This is not the fault of the students who organized the event. I am sure they will hire a different company next year.

  • Comments: I've never won my age group, much less a race, so winning the race and setting the Langton Hall Mtn Bike Triathlon course record, the day before my 40th birthday nonetheless, was a dream come true. The culmination of training, nutrition and hydration all coming together at the right time feels unbelievable. I'll be back next year on the hunt for the Dixon Hall Mtn Bike Tri record. Hope to see you all there :]

  • Comments: This is the first tri of the season and they do a great job. Tons of volunteers (who are AMAZINGLY enthusiastic for an early Saturday morning), supportive fans, a nice food and hot drink selection at the end, and perfect long sleeve tech t-shirts. I'm ready to sign up for next year!

  • Comments: Great race venue! The volunteers were fantastic. They run this race like a well oiled machine. Highly recommend this race to anyone considering their first triathlon.

  • Comments: Well run race, VERY appropriately named this year. But the best indicator for me is whether I'll return again (no matter the weather) and in this case absolutely I'll be back next year.

  • Comments: There were a ton of volunteers at virtually every key point of the race, and everybody was very friendly and gave words of encouragement. What's even more impressive is the race director looked like he was in his 20s, although I can't say for certain if he was or wasn't.

  • Comments: Adding the second pool is a great idea but those of us assigned to it had no idea what to do about the long run and had no idea how long it was or what the surface would be like. That should change.

  • Comments: This is a slick operation. Many fabulous volunteers made what could have been a miserable experience (given the weather) a great race. The swimming heats that I watched all started exactly on time and there were no hitches anywhere.

  • Comments: The volunteers did a FANTASTIC job of running the race. There was no doubt about which way the bike and run courses went, & no way you get wander of course. The National Guard folks and Law Enforcement did a great job working traffic on the bike course. The race was well organized, well run, and they had plenty of help. I was really impressed! Good job you guys! See you next year for sure!!! :-)

  • Comments: Um, move the event to a warmer month? Or maybe I shouldn't sign up for an event with the word "freezer" in the title. Seriously, it was a well run event. Very organized, especially since it doubled in size this year. The staff and volunteers were all so friendly and helpful, and everyone on the course seemed like they were having a great time, in spite of the cooooollldddd. I have two complaints about what I think was overall I pretty fun event. First, I didn't see anyone on the bike course looking for rule violations, and I definitely noticed some serious drafting. Most of it did not appear to be intentional, but it was still a problem. Second of all, it took forever for them to post the race results. Seriously in a race of 500 people with chip timing, why does it take more than 8 hours to post results on line?

  • Comments: This is a fun, well-run race that is great for beginners and experienced athletes. The only issues I had were: shirt size problem (resolved) and the people who are on the run course keeping track of how many times you go around the block (because it is a loop) haven't kept accurate track of me the last two years. Thankfully it didn't affect my race results.

  • Comments: For a small event, the OSU Triathlon Club does a fantastic job putting it on. It was well organized (with the exception of the pool signs leading me into the wrong locker room). There were TONS of volunteers at each turn on the bike course. Lots of cheering students along the run course. And plenty of raffle prizes and winners awards. This is surely going to be my favorite way to kick off tri season in future years!!

  • Comments: Really happy with the race. I got wet but had it not rained I probably would have been cold. The support people were great, the facilities were good. My only issue is that I missed the awards ceremony because I had to leave in a rush. I certainly would do this race again next year.

  • Comments: First ever trialthon. Very pleased to have finished. Knew I would be slow. Panic in swim. Surpirsed transitions were so long. Lots of opportunity for improvement. Overall, I am pleased to be a triathlete and pleased to have finished under two hours.
