  • Comments: They lose big points on organization because of mis-measuring really both the run & bike courses. The bike was advertised as 13 miles, but garmin said 12.53, and the run was only 2.6 instead of 5k. The first mile marker was exactly right, but the 2nd mile marker was only .6 miles later. If I had known for sure that the course was only 2.6 I might have pushed a little harder, but I really didn't have much more to give. Then again, the guy in 17th beat me by 1.2 seconds and I probably could have passed him. Overall, I'm exceedingly happy with my performance. I have never pushed myself that hard in an athletic event. It was gratifying to not only not finish dead last in my age group, but to beat several people.

  • Comments: The bike course was dangerous. Cars and not clearly marked turns and inattentive volunteers made the bike difficult, plus Cherry Creek really needs to fix all of the bone rattling cracks in the pavement.

  • Comments: Overall a fun race. I had a really good swim and a strong bike, my transitions could have been better and my run was bad again. Cherry creek is a pretty cool venue and the water was great, actually quite warm and although sometimes frustrating to get through the other people in the water, kind of fun at the same time. Bike was pretty good overall, could have taken the corners a bit faster to keep my speed up. Looking forward to figuring out my run. If I can get rid of these side stiches I know I can average a much faster run split.

  • Comments: This was a great race for me and the tshirt has an awesome graphic on it. I got a sweet beer glass with the logo and 3rd place on it. They also gave away $2000 in gift cards to Bike Source. My coworker Bruce won $150 so that was cool but so many people left it felt like it would be easy to win something. Maybe next time...

  • Comments: I beat myself up for awhile about this. Even hesitated on posting my report. With the exception of the swim the rest of the race went great. Fastest bike split outta 71 by over a minute. 2nd fastest run. I just know if the swim hadn't gone horribly awry I would have won my division. Oh well there will always be more races. I gotta give big props to Breckview and Dime who absolutely stomped this race. Also I gotta give it up to Dime again for the philosophy he was dropping via Blackberry.

  • Comments: I like the fact that the race is only 5-10 minutes from my house and they do packet pick-up race day. This is definitely a smaller (capped at 500) race that is friendly for the more casual triathlete -- there were still plenty of FAST people. Overall, I'll probably do this event next year as it is so convenient and fairly well run.

  • Comments: this is a fun race that's near my home. I like the fact I don't have to load my bike on the car and drive 30+ miles to race. Also, they had race day packet pick-up. I wish more races would do this! I hate making a drive just to pick-up a race packet! They did mis-measure the swim course but I'm not too bent out of shape over that (even though that is my worst event). Some fast guys at this race!

  • Comments: Great race and they gave away my Cervello P2C (the guy who won my AG won the bike!) I had a very solid race. I lost it on the swim, but like I said before, if the swim was the advertised distance, I would have done much better.

  • Comments: Race results took over a day to be posted, and the numbers seem off on some of their calculations... Plus they didn't post overall rankings. I would like to get a sense of how I did against the whole pack.

  • Comments: The bike course was really rough and I was surprised I didn't get a flat. The swim course was much longer than advertised, but that worked to my advantage since it was my strongest event. Overall a good race and will attend again next year.

  • Comments: Run into T1 was brutal Transition Area was not secure, but did not appear to be a problem Drink station on course needed to be further out (seemed to be at 3/4 mi and on 2-1/2 mile on back) or an additional station at turnaround.

  • Comments: This is the first time I have used my HR monitor for a triathlon. Not sure I would do that again as it was somewhat of a distraction. Also, I was surprised to see my average HR as low as it was. I've maintained a higher HR on tempo runs and training rides than what I held for the tri. Most importantly is get through the transitions faster! I think I should easily take 1 - 2 minutes off my overall time with a little work in this area.

  • Comments: A fun race with a very elite group of athletes. The overall female winning times were 1:08 and 1:10 and the 1:08 was in my age group. I wish I could have been top 10 in my AG or better than top 28% overall women, but this was a fast group. BTW- I need a tri bike. I'm going to be doing some shopping.

  • Comments: i was kind of disappointed that it was so expensive, yet there weren't very many volunteers - or there would be 2 at a turn for the bike, with a million orange markers, but then NOBODY at another intersection where you had to assume to go "that way". and the cold, dry pizza was NASTY!!!! but really, that stuff doesn't matter as much to me as the experience as a whole and just being around other triathletes - they ALL ROCK!!!!!!

  • Comments: I have two overall thoughts about this race. The first is that the field was a lot tougher than I expected. Looking at the past few years results, my time would have placed me at least top 5. So mentally, it was a little discouraging to come out of the water with about 10 people in front of me, then transition to the bike where I couldn't catch any of them, and then transition to the run where I got passed a couple of times. Even though I beat my goal time by a minute and a half, I can't help walking away from this race feeling a little dissapointed. And I think that feeling contributed heavily to feeling like I just wasn't going that fast during the race. Looking at my pacing and result, I can't complain, but while I was racing I just felt slow, and I wonder if that was more related to the competition than my own performance. In the future, I obviously need to focus on myself and not worry about the competition, but right now I can't get past the feeling that I could have and should

  • Comments: Cold pizza - yuck - not my idea of good post race food - but they had plenty of drinks. I didn't win any door prizes or catch any of the water bottles - but had a good time - spending the morning with my hubby and my daughter. I've uploaded some pictures to this race posting and will put a few more in my album.
