  • Comments: You can't compare racing w/ 55,000 other people. Sure, it's tough to get a PR. But it's more about the experience. Was glad to finally see what this race is all about after growing up in Atlanta and hearing about it every year. I think it will become a 4th of July tradition from here on.

  • Comments: Always a fun event! We were back in group 8 so we had to wait for a long time. I think there is more energy in the groups up front. Next year, I need to send in a time even if it is slow :) It was HOT this year. Not crazy about the up hill finish, but given the change of finish line venue, the organizers did a good job getting everyone through the tshirt and drink lines.

  • Comments: I don't care for the new ending. In addition to changing from a downhill to an uphill roller (stinker), they seemed to funnel you down through the streets to MARTA. In all fairness, I didn't go over to the Civic Center where they may have had more activities etc. I just followed the people in front of me and ended up at Marta. I was home before a number of the racers were half way done.

  • Comments: I love this race. This marked my 6th year racing and I finally ran the race in an hour (probably under an hour if my Garmin is right!). It's tough to be serious about the run because there are so many people and it's typically really hot.

  • Comments: Amazing is only one word of many that comes to mind when describing this race. This was my first Peachtree, and I had not understood the hype of this race going into it. People were buying numbers online for $300. I was thinking just to get the coveted t-shirt at the end? I used to live in Buckhead and have driven Peachtree Street more times than I can count, but what a different animal it was on race day. Six miles of festivity is the best way to put it. Bands playing, people cheering, thousands of people running the same race as you, and it seemed almost as many were cheering you on. I made a point to thank as many volunteers as I had breath for. I waved at everyone who waved at me. I tried to make a special point to wave to the disabled people along the route. Out front of the hospital there was a lady who looked like she was status post left sided stroke. Her nurse was with her, and she was in a wheel chair and had a gown on. I waved and waved until she saw me and she broke out

  • Comments: Peachtree is always a fun race. Enjoyed being in the seeded groups to be able to get started earlier and not wait around for an hour after the start. Need to work on my hills and overall running and return in 2008 and try for a Sub 45min run.
