  • Comments: Best race in terms of the cause and organization it supports. I hope to be able to support this race and IMAble for many years to come. It was great to see the RD had some new, big sponsors behind him that, with the race fees, made it possible to provide/fund adaptive equipment for two athletes (it's usually just one). Good stuff.

  • Comments: I fully endorse this race and its cause and will continue to support it in years to come but I've learned today that there needs to be some better method in place to get help for someone in need of serious assistance. Thank heavens my friend didn't have more serious injuries - it took way too long to get in touch with someone and for help to arrive.

  • Comments: This race was my first tri ever back in 2010, so it's a local favorite to return to year after year, plus I love supporting Chris and his very worthy cause.

  • Comments: Chris, the RD, always puts on a very good race for a very good cause and strives to add to the experience every year. This year there was a live band and a food truck or two, too bad the weather didn't cooperate to be able to better enjoy these additions and the other post-race goings-on.

  • Comments: Chris does a great job making this a familly friendly event - balloon animal creators, face-painting, food, drinks, fun competitions aside from the event. As long as I'm doing triathlons I will continue to do this race.

  • Comments: Love this race, love the cause. IM ABLE raises money to help disabled athletes get the equipment they need to stay active, whether it be hand cycles or any other specialty equipment they need. Super fun day with beautiful weather and good times with friends.

  • Comments: Good race. I was glad to start in the elite wave because I was able to bypass much of the congestion that I understand there was further back in the waves.

  • Comments: I was really annoyed that the males started in wave 8. Too many people in the water. Definitely effected my swim.

  • Comments: Being this was my first ever tri, I feel there could have been several things better. Better communication as some beginners went off in the wrong swim wave. Getting the volunteers ready on the course when the race starts. 2 elite members biking in 1st and 2nd place didn't turn where they should have because a volunteer wasn't ready at that turn(they dnf'd). Don't give out awards until the scoring is correct. It's a very good race that benefits disabled athletes. I had a great time at my first tri and will always remember it fondly.

  • Comments: This marked the 10th anniversary of the race, and the 4th year I've competed. It's such a great cause, raising money for equipment for disabled athletes. Each year we compete side by side with some of these athletes and it's always inspiring. Each year Chris (RD) has a ceremony presenting new equipment (usually a hand cycle) to a grant recipient. I really enjoy doing this race - it was my first ever and serves as a great metric to my gradual progression and increased performance. The course is beautiful and new paving of certain areas made the bike course even better.

  • Comments: 432/523 finishers 111/166 females 24/36 AG 6/13 Athenas After the race I thought I was close to my swim and bike goals but once the results were posted I realized I didn't make either one. I was disappointed in that, although I did knock 4 minutes off of last year's time, which does make me happy. New PR for this race (3rd year racing this race), LOL. Already looking forward to beating these times next year! Very well-run, organized race for a great cause. Thanks to Chris and all the volunteers who made this a successful day!

  • Comments: Great race - very well organized, supports a great cause and had some activities for spectators, too. Organizers adjusted well to some changes due to weather - the area transition was supposed to be in turned in to a marsh due to the heavy rain we've had the last few weeks. Volunteers staffed every turn and every area on the bike that needed some extra caution. Bike course is fantastic - besides the initial road at transition, the roads are smooth, its beautiful and the climbs make it a challenge. The addition of the elite wave was nice - gives the really good people a way to directly compete against themselves, and increases the chances of regular age groupers like me getting some hardware :-) Definitely a great way to start the season, and I hope I can fit it into my schedule next year.
