It got out of the pool, into the shower, out of the shower and realized I had no underwear, no tee-shirt and no socks!  Yikes!  I usually pack two gym bags - one for the morning for my swim and one for lunch for my run.  Yesterday I put my running stuff in my swim bag and vice versa.  So I went commando...till I could get to my truck.

No matter how long I've been doing the same thing, I still manage to screw things up occasionally.

So what's your "oop, forgot my ____" story?

I once forgot to bring jammers to wear under my wetsuit. So I wrapped a towel around, managed to shimmy into my suit at the beach, and swam all free and clear. It's very liberating. The problem, however, is getting the wetsuit up around the waist without showing the twigs and berries . My swim coach calls this being a `deck changer.' I thought she said something else at first.

You would be shocked at the funny looks you get when toweling off at the paper towel dispenser...

Been there, done that one.

I've forgotten to bring underwear to the pool before afterwards for my gym workout afterwards, so I end up just wearing my jammers under my gym shorts.

I had a bad habit of forgetting my bra when I rode my bike to work.   It was hard to decide: go free, or wear the sweaty sports bra?  I did the best I could to dry it out and wore the sports bra, hoping it didn't make a perfect bra shaped sweat mark on my work top.  Once I was lucky and had my bathing suit along for a swim later, so I wore that instead.  Feels really dumb wearing a bathing suit for undergarments with business casual clothes.

When I was first learning how to kayak, I was taking classes at a college over an hour away from home. I once got there and realized I forgot both my bathing suit and my towel.  And I with my friend who drove, so I didn't have access to my gym bag that lives in my car. It was January or February, so I didn't want to just go in with my jeans and then drive home again with them all wet.  Since he drove, I couldn't just go back home, and ended up just sitting on the pool bleachers watching him till it was time to leave.  D'oh!

I too have fogotten a towel when I go to my 'other' YMCA.  I've gotten it down between the two automatic paper towel dispensers.  One finished and I put my hand under it for the other.

I forgot my bike shoes when I went on a ride the other day.  Had 2 rear wheels, an extra helmet and even an extra HRM strap.  But no bike shoes!

I always seem to forget a towel. So now I keep a swimmer's chamois towel rolled up in my bag at all times. If I forget a towel for the shower I at least have that, so I don't end up using paper towels in the pool's locker room.

You can get them at any swimming supply web site for $5-10. They work great as a backup towel.

I was going outside last night to work on our landscaping. (this has been my "training" for the past few days)  The kids had gone out a few minutes before me to play on the swingset.   My 5 year old met me at the door on his way inside.

"Forgot my  pants" he said on the way past.

"Make sure you go tell Mama why you're coming inside."

One quick-change later and he's out on the swings!

One winter whenI was living in Maryland, I went to the gym.  Picked out a treadmill and had started taking my windpants off when I realized I forgot to put shorts on.

You gonna loan him some undies??  Now that's Southern Hospitality!

I've forgotten underwear (went commando).  I've forgotten socks (borrowed a friends pair).  I have forgotten jammers (and didn't swim, or do what a friend did, get some from lost and found - YUCK)

Been there, done that, now I carry an extra set of socks, drawers and an undershirt at all times in the bottom of my gym bag. Have had to go to the reserves more than once.

I guess that did sound a bit wierd....

Actually interested in some suggestions on bike routes around Birmingham, so i don't get run over training.  I'm a newbie to the bike, but loving it so far.

Was playing a doubles indoor tennis league. There are six indoor courts with four people on each court. My partner, saunters onto the court, takes off his sweatpants, grabs his racquet and is walking towords me (our opponets were already on the court) and he realizes he is in he boxers. I mean, OBVIOUS boxers. Hilarous! He forgot to put his tennis shorts on under his sweatpants.

Check the ALABAMA section. There's a thread on that.

Mike, that's exactly the reason I keep a set of socks, boxers, and undershirt in my truck. I've had to resort to that MANY TIMES.

Hey, at least you had a backup pair in your truck...

I seem to always forget something when I go to swim laps. So many things to remember, even more for girls like me who have to wash the hair after, brush it, etc. My timex watch, lock for the locker, swim paddles, goggles, caps, clothes to wear after... TOWEL!

I rarely leave the gym with undies on.

I was going to bike part of the way up to my In-law's house, so my wife pulls over to drop me off.  Get the bike off the rack only to find no front wheel...doh!

So I just HTFU and rode a wheelie for the next 30 miles.

I've forgotten my underwear on a couple occasions while biking to work.  After trying my bathing suit once, and itching like crazy, I went commando.  Much more comfortable and actually felt rather refreshing.

I did that once after a long hike -- finished and was dying to take my boots off and put on some flip flops, realized I'd forgotten them. I couldn't bear putting the boots back on so I wore a pair of heels I found in the trunk of my car. Went to lunch wearing hiking shorts, tech T, and high heels (which looked especially great with the sock line from all the dirt on the trail). My friends still give me $hit for that one.

I've forgotten underwear many, many times at the gym. I'm actually very comfortable going commando now, except on days when I'm wearing a skirt.

Got to the pool with no goggles once. How that happened is beyond me. I usually have 7 pair in my bag. Oh yeah. Forgot the bag that day. Anyway, face in the water swimming without is not an option since I wear contacts (and had no place for those). Grabbed a kickboard and alternated kick sets and head-up drills for about 2,000 yards.

Boy!  It is good to know I'm not alone in this.  I've forgotten so many items over the years.  Sports Bra- so then I have to work out and then return to work in my regular bra, yuck.  Socks, Underwear, Shorts, you name it.  I always manage to get the workout in though!
