Extreme Veteran  504  Tucson, AZ |  Subject: A day to share -- five years cancer free today...To all my friends on BT, please take a moment and smile... today is a day to take a deep breath and relish it! Five years ago today, I was wheeled into an operating room to remove cancer. After four hours, much to my happiness, I learned later that they must have gotten it all. Five years later, I am racing instead of pushing daisies. I get to donate blood again after a five year break, I am scheduled for next week. This makes this a really nice day. 25 years ago I buried my father from cancer and as much as I love him I am glad I did not follow those footsteps! Please share this wonderful day by taking a moment, looking around and take stock in something to relish in your life and then smile about it. Life is a great gift and I hope all my friends on BT will share the warmth of that gift with me today... Emerson "V" for victory over cancer! |

I can relate and share in your victory from a very personal standpoint. 7 years ago my wife was diagnosed with colon cancer at the young age of 39. Two different doctors from two different hospitals gave her less than a year. Then two years ago she was diagnosed with a different form of cancer. I wasn;t done loving her yet and knew that where there was a will there was a way. I found a doctor and with his surgical expertise and what is termed "alternative" medicine, she is cancer free today. I could go on and on about how crooked the FDA is and that most doctors have the pharmaceutical companies in their interest, but this is your day. Enjoy every moment. The one thing we can never get back is time spent with our loved ones. CONGRATULATIONS!!! And here's to many more anniversaries. I also just noticed that you are in Tucson. Went to high school at Flowing Wells class of 19__, and U of A. I miss that very bike friendly town.

Great news to hear, my father just finished up his radiation for prostate cancer, we wont know for some time how things went. It was inoperable. He is 62, the same age his father was whom died of prostate cancer. |
