No More TSA Body Scanners

I've opted out of those things since they started using them

the new pat down is incredibly embarassing.  i'd gladly go through the scanner and have naked alien pics of me giggled at than go through that pat down.

In other news a massive TSA employee strike is planned for Monday. Apparently there are few perks to being a TSA agent and the loss of this one was too much to bear.

I opted out while I was pregnant.  The woman doing the pat down was so rude that she actually pushed hard enough on my stomach to hurt me.  

I am glad they are getting rid of them.

LOL.  yes and no.  It's exactly what I was intending (to see the level of detail) - but yeah, Americans need a physical trainer.

Maybe it's a guy /girl thing, I've never had an issue.  Although I never thought I'd hear a man say to me "Now I am going to be touching your buttocks."  I don't find it embarrassing at all, but I am not easily embarrassed

Although, my wife opts out as well and had never reported an issue.  So more likely it's a location/airport thing

As for the scanners being "safe," I am not really a black helicopter kind of guy, but recently there was a very well known hospital locally that learned that it was calibrating its CT scanners wrong and delivering 1000s of times the prescribed dose.  I can't trust hospitals to get these right, sure as heck am not going to trust the TSA to do so.

They are only getting rid of one vendor's scanners, the backscatter xray scanners from Rapiscan.  They are still going to be using the millimeter wave scanners from L3 systems.

Don't expect scanners to go away anytime soon, sadly.

they run their hands inside the waist band of my pants and LOOK DOWN INSIDE.  front and back.  every time i've been through it (several different airports/agents.) 

Umm, that might not be a security issue............

Kids go in a bin along with your shoes and metallic objects...

I always wanted to request a female TSA agent do it just to see what they would do, but I never had the time to argue.

I was allowed to skip it and go through the metal detector when I went through with my 3 month old.

Probably don't see hard abs that often - do they call a friend over to have a look too? :P

got the full body scan a couple weeks ago.  Seems way less invasive than getting groped.

then again- I've got nothing to be embarassed about.
